     *As ordered, the staff waited until it was almost time to return to the Castle before awakening the Keyholder and her Lord. Penthesilea had missed singing her morning song for Apollo but if the God minded, He kept his mouth shut. Penthesilea was happier than anyone had ever seen her and no one in the family would admit to begrudging her a moment of it. When they emerged from their suite, Penthesilea looked tousled and a bit sleepy and Kodiak was hastily tucking in his shirt. Karika was just emerging from her room as well and smiled knowingly at the lovers. She knew, as they did, that the period of separation, celibacy, meditation and purifications would begin as soon as they returned to the Castle. Penthesilea would be confined to her tower. Only the most urgent work would be brought to her attention. Cujon had arranged for Kodiak to take temporary quarters in the Bachelor Officers’ Tower in the Military Compound and he too would be excused from all but the most urgent tasks. The last 12 hours before they stood before the altar would be the most spiritually intense of their lives. And when they came together on their wedding night, Karika expected the Castle to shake!
     They went downstairs to the transporter room together, Karika giving the lovers their space in their last few moments together. They did not speak aloud but communicated with the inspeaking. Karika knew, better than anyone, just how devoted they were to each other and how much Kodiak’s love had transformed his Lady. Their union was destiny and Karika felt herself blessed to be the one to sanctify it.
Karikai took her place on the platform first and waited. Kodiak took his Lady in his arms and kissed her, a slow, lingering kiss, and said something in her head that made Penthesilea smile. Holding hands, they took their places. The command to transport was given and they released their grip and disappeared.*
