Ashera, The Castle’s Artificial Intelligence.
Ashera One, first of two mobile units controlled by Ashera. This unit is programmed as a bodyguard and covert operative. Her first mission was to replace Penthesilea at the Castle while the Keyholder was undercover in Madridoor. No permanent name or appearance at present.
Phillipa Barnes a.k.a. Ashera Two, second of two mobile units controlled by Ashera. The “Phillipa unit” serves as Valcaria’s Seneschal.
Augustino Barrowight, Commander of the Castle Guard, has an unhealthy obsession with Penthesilea.
Flynn and Brenla of Crowncrest, a semiretired couple in charge of the castle’s page corps.
Torao-Akio: A Southern Isles wizard of an obscure but powerful shamanic tradition. He is very powerful and is knowledgeable in many magickal operations and systems that have been forgotten. He is Oldkin and even he is unsure of how old he is.
Melked: King of the Northern Hills Tribe of Prometheus. A very tall, muscular man of great intelligence and humor and like all Prometheans, he is Godkin. He is an old battle comrade of Daemon FarWalker’s. He and the Northern Hills Tribe were summoned to Valcaria by Keyholder’s Castle.
Siserie Cloudchaser: A young woman on the staff of the castle’s housekeeping services. She usually works in the castle’s laundry but has proved her usefulness in other areas. Unknown to her, the castle’s spy master is thinking of recruiting her.
Coronal Dax: A mercenary secretly in the employ of Lord Stephan of Paradise Valley. When he was contacted by DarkLord Kalidon about hiring on at Keyholder’s Castle, Lord Stephan instructed him to take the job and assist Jasmine and Coral in their mission to subvert the Castle’s defenders. He was killed by a scorpion-man during the destruction of Paradise Valley.
Queen Xanthraldane: A breeding female of a species of human/giant scorpion hybrid. She and her brood were formerly enslaved to Lord Amon-Zane/Lord Stephan of Paradise Valley but she and her surviving children escaped during the destruction of Paradise Valley. Current whereabouts unknown.
Kodiak’s People:Alisa Averaldale: Kodiak’s second in command and lover. She was murdered on Jasmine Nightshade’s orders and was listed as missing and presumed dead after Kodiak’s army camp was destroyed. Her body was found in a secret room in Paradise Valley after it was destroyed.
Gustavus: Senior Mage in Kodiak’s corp of mages and an honors graduate of the White Star Mage School.
C (Formal name: Carnedyr ) Third in command of Kodiak’s personal elite force. He moved into the second in command spot after Alisa Averadale’s disappearance.
Elder Taxiarchai: The Past Headmaster of the Violet Winds Mage School and the world’s leading expert on Keyholder’s Castle and the lore concerning the Keyholders. While not strictly in Kodiak’s employ, the Elder has been a valuable source of information for Kodiak as he investigated Keyholder’s Castle and its Lady.
The Master a.k.a. Master: Kodiak’s second foster father and first teacher. He appears to be a man in his late middle years but is, in reality, much, much older. He is a high ranking member of the esoteric order that has its headquarters in the Temple of the Western Sea. (Terran racial equivalent: Eurasian)
