Dressed all in black
Stood in a crowd
Of people mourning
For those underground.

A tearful procession
Down forget-me-not street
Delicate flowers
Crushed under feet.

Stood at the place
My tears running free
Where they buried my love
Beneath the oak tree.

I am remembering
All those that I’ve lost.
Lives laid to rest
Beneath harsh frost.
