	My eyes are killing me but I think that everything in Chapter 9 is done except for the character introductions. I'm gonna take a break and throw some clothes in the washer while my eyes rest. Then I'll get on those intros.

	Afternoon. We're back from our Saturday "stuff" and we're settling for two weeks of "no going to work." I'm ready, believe me. I got a book that I ordered today. It's a Writer's Digest reference book, "Lights and Sirens" about firefighting, emergency rescue and such things. I'm going to settle in and go through it later. I might find myself writing another wildfire or other such situation and need the info. Right now, I'm going to make some tea and relax before I start my chores. Later.

	I am under orders to get more catnip plants. The SunLord loves nip and the War Queen seems to have developed a fondness for it. She didn't used to care for it much but that was before Mischief died. The Prince of Midnight has also been sniffing around it and the catnip patch is looking considerably the worse for wear. Last night, the little guy was dozing on the bed as we were getting ready to go to bed. The War Queen jumped up on the opposite side of the bed, walked over to the Prince of Midnight, sniffed at him and then swatted him with a hiss. The little guy came up with a swing (which missed) and a hiss of his own. The Queen jumped down and he followed her. She'll start respecting him a little now. He's stood up to her and all of them that have come after her have had to do that. She really isn't mean, just proud and she demands her due as the Queen. Ah well, back to work. I'm delving into Chapter 10 now.

	I've finished about the first 8 pages of Chapter 10, currently trying to decide what to do about a character that needs to be "recast" and I'm going into a section that's going to need extensive work. sigh I guess that I'd better load the dishwasher before I start that or the dishes will never get done. 	I'm going to have to create a new "human" species or sub-species for Book 2. There is no other solution. The flatulence jokes are out too. They're juvenile and I cringed at them in the first place. Now that the characters are different, they are completely out of character. Now all I need is to design the race. Good thing that I can "create" while peeling potatoes.....

	Going to head out. I've got a lot on my mind tonight and none of it is going to get sorted out while I'm staring at the computer. At least I came up with a name for the replacement character I have to create. That's a good start and I have a general idea of his racial characteristics given what he can do. I'm trying to avoid stereotypes and what has already been done (famously) elsewhere. On this night in 1995, my mother died. That's one of the things on my mind but there are others and I have to decide what to do about them as I'm pretty sure that there is action that I can take. Anyway, everyone sleep well and be safe.

	Somebody female had better watch out. A very emotionally needy woman is apparently getting cozy with her husband. Since he's less than completely fulfilled at the moment, that could spell trouble since the wife apparently isn't into polyamory and has a reputation of jealousy/possessiveness. Think I'll watch this one from a safe distance. It could get real bloody, real fast and I don't need any more scars....

	I iz happy danceperson. I think I've found the "spacer" track that I need for my dance suite. I'll have to download it and try it out but it sounds good alone and Skywise thinks that it will work. If nothing else, I'm on the right track. happy hip shimmy... Ahhh.. Moonie just brought me a stem of blossoms off of a locust tree. I love the smell of them...

	I've been playing with the dance music this afternoon, trying different combinations. I really don't want to buy any more music that "might" work so I'm going through what I already have and giving it another listen. I have a bit over 24 hours of music loaded on the computer. Fortunately, I know which albums have nothing suitable on them so I don't have to go through those. I'm listening to one right now that "might" work for a finale if I can get a handle on how to dance to it. If not, it will be back to searching.... Think I'll write while I listen. I've got an hour or so before I have to get dinner started. Later.

	Afternoon! Busy morning is out of the way with "semi-busy" afternoon underway. Yesterday, for the first time in a literal decade, I was going up and down the stairs normally. That is, without using any of the "tricks" that I've been accustomed to using to navigate the steps with aching knees. Consequently, various muscle groups have been raising holy hell with me this morning over the unaccustomed activity. sigh I've just taken a thousand milligrams of aspirin with a chocolate milkshake. I am determined to restart my walking program today once Skywise is finished mowing the grass and said muscle groups are just gonna have to get with the program! I'm also going to get my "archery range" set up today too. In the meantime, I'm gonna get caught up and do some writing. Later.

	I'm thinking that the simplest solution to some of my writing problems is... THE ULTIMATE CHAINSAW OF DELETE! Certain posters got carried away with attempts on the life of Our Heroine and while it made for an entertaining evening's posting, it's overkill in a novel, especially since Our Heroine was nearly taken out by some anaconda sized cobras a few pages earlier! I'll check the length of the chapter once the deletions are made and see if I need to add some new material. Maybe something about Our Heroine's daughters at University......

	Omm: Memories both good and bad. The good ones are extraordinary. The bad ones... well.. let's say I'm keeping myself firmly in hand! Needing to clear my head and think logically and analyze things. Need to figure out what I can do, what I should do and how to do it. I also need to apply some brainpower to the changes I need to make in Chapter 10 but those things are secondary to the other stuff. Skywise is still cutting the grass but he's finished cutting around my "walking track" so I think I'll get ready and go for a walk. Later.

	Got my walk done, managed to walk longer than I thought I would. My left arm is going to be sore tomorrow, I think. I took the practice sword along and worked on getting my form back while I walked. I haven't practiced in quite a while -- my bad! -- and I expect to feel it in the morning. The pizza dough is rising and I'll be frying the sausage directly. Working on Chapter 10, pulling out stuff and writing new stuff to put in. It's a slow process but satisfying. I get to cut out stuff that I didn't particularly care for the first time. This pleases me. Off to fry sausage. Later.

	Dinner's done and eaten and I'm working on Chapter 10. Working on a rewrite at the moment. It's coming along fairly well. I should get this particular "situation" taken care of tonight. Then it will be off to another one. I still haven't created that race that I need and this chapter won't be finished until I do but I'm thinking about it so something should bubble to the surface sooner or later. Sooner, I'm hoping! Now, back to work!

	I needed a break from writing so I've been prowling the net and scheming. I think I might be on to something, a way to get what I've been wanting. Need to do a tad more research and probably some "leg work" as well but I pitched my idea to Skywise and he didn't immediately come up with reasons why it wouldn't work so.... my relentless little brain is in "scheming overdrive" as it were. If my scheme pans out, I will be one very happy little person. Now, since I've got a couple of hours to kill until I can do the download I want, I'm going to go back to the writing. Later.

	Had to quit writing. My left hand started to cramp. That was a hint from my body so I tidied up the section I was working on and shut it down. Still a good day's work though so I'm happy. Still have 45 minutes to kill. A tiny dish of ice cream sounds good. I'll be back before "lights out."

	Afternoon! I certainly slept! I didn't wake up until an hour ago and then I lazed around under the covers for a while, thinking nice thoughts. Now I'm up with a bunch of dirty dishes to deal with.
