	The Pace Laps are about done. The race is about to start. I've been taping for an hour already, got all the pre-race ceremonies on tape as usual. Skywise is cutting the grass and is listening to the race on his radio. hehehe Die hard race fans, the both of us!

	The race is on television now and Skywise and I are watching it. I'm also IMing with Nike about, among other things, my continuing quest to snag a literary agent. Another query goes out this week sometime. I'm still mulling over the best way for Our Heroine to find out what she needs to know for the action to proceed. Query first and then I'll get on the "intel" problem. Later.

	Afternoon. The van broke down, again, while in town. Skywise thinks it is the starter this time. Anyway, after much phoning, we got the van towed to the auto shop then the tow truck driver took Skywise and Spirit home so they could get the car, come back and pick up Moonie and me since the tow truck didn't have room for all of us. Fortunately, the van died in the parking lot of the local Taco Bell so Moonie and I stayed in the air conditioning and drank Sierra Mist while we waited. It wasn't crowded so the management didn't mind us taking a couple of seats. Then, we stopped so Skywise and I could get something to eat -- the girls wanted Taco Bell, Skywise and I didn't -- then we stopped at the auto shop, got the stuff we'd bought at Wal-Mart out of the back of the van and finally got home. Then he got ready and went to work. More We figure that once we get to Wednesday, things "should" settle down some. Right now. Tea. And dark chocolate. And then the query letter on one half of the desktop and chapter 5 on the other.

	Greetings! We've been busy. Skywise has already left for work in order to get things set up properly at work. Because of the holiday, no mail has been canceled for the last two days so it all must be canceled today. Guess who will be supervising the canceling unit today. You guessed it! So he left early to get up there and get things organized before the tsunami of first class mail hits... I expect him home at 12:30 am. It's gonna be a long day. We'll talk to the auto shop tomorrow and hopefully find out what it's going to cost to fix the van. And since we're having some changes made in our life insurance both Skywise and I are going to have to have physicals which we haven't had in a couple of decades, give or take 5 years, and we don't have a doctor since ours retired. Soooooo.... we have THAT whole hassle to go through. sigh I've done a little checking already. Skywise and I will start the hunt tomorrow. Today is already booked!! Now, I will make tea and get something to eat. Yeah, no breakfast yet. Later.

	I've been working on the next query letter and posting on EarthSong Forums. One of my latest posts might get me in a bit of trouble with some of the members but I can't help that. I'm not likely to get in trouble with the administration since I was agreeing with the opinion expressed by one of the moderators and he did it much better than I could have. �I threw my two cents in as well, of course. The letter proceeds. I'm hoping to have it mostly written out by tonight or tomorrow. Then I'll make it pretty and email it as this agent doesn't accept hardcopy submissions. It saves paper I suppose... The dishwasher is chugging away -- YES! -- and all is peaceful and quiet so far. There are storms in the forecast but not for a while yet so I'm chilling while I can. Later.

	I got my walk in after I finished the synopsis and then went cruising around the internet. Nothing terribly interesting out there which is good, I guess. It means that the deterioration of the world isn't speeding up. Yeah, that's me. Always trying to find a "bright side."

	Afternoon! Skywise got home at 2 am, work was rough, went to bed and then the thunderstorms moved in. Got a little sleep in before the cramps in my right leg woke me up. Had to go get the van -- have I mentioned that I hate driving -- and found out as we were leaving that the storm brought down a tree as well as a few pieces. Went to town, got van, came home and cleaned up the worst of the fall wood. All of which was done before "breakfast." Skywise left for work on time and I'm trying to get organized. Not doing so well at that so far... Later.

	I finished the "letter" part of my query today. Nike read it and the synopsis over and gave it her seal of approval. So I'll be going over them one last time, mainly to make sure that names and addresses are correct and then get it sent off. Then I'll get back to the "writing" part of the job while I wait for a response. Right now though, I'm heading out. Everyone sleep well and be safe.

	Afternoon! I've been up for a while, catching up on things and enjoying the silence. The day is starting to pick up speed so the time for silent contemplation is over. The girls are up! 	I'm doing a quick load of laundry before I remove myself from the computer. My views on government run health care are going to get me in trouble on EarthSong Forums if I follow my natural inclinations and tell those of my fellow citizens that if they want socialized medicine they should move to Canada! So this little Libertarian-inclined gal is gonna get away from there for a while! My journal needs updating anyway and the WarQueen needs to be convinced that she doesn't need to go outside. 	I've been writing and doing laundry and making pretty good headway on both. The blood exchange between Our Hero and his Lady is done to my satisfaction now so I'm moving on the next thing which is how most of the Castle's forces are lured away so the bad guys can attack. I'm playing around with a number of ideas which I will consider while I'm getting dinner started. Later.
