Hubby fixed that *BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP* kerosene heater and got a new wick for it. He did a "test run" on it to make sure it was working great.

The house REEKS of kerosene right now. BLECH!! Smiley

It's starting to clear out now, but I'll probably be smelling kerosene for a few days. BLECH!

Maybe y'all can take the girls out later this week?

Hubby purchased one of those infrared heaters today to help warm up the house on those really cold days. So far it's working wonderfully and I'm liking it. The kitchen is warmer than it's been since summertime! So much nicer than getting a draft from that end even with the halogen heater toasting my rear!! LOL

I know the walks are helping but I'm getting messages from the left leg that taking only 10 minutes to walk over 1/3 of a mile is TOO FAST.... Owies... Sad

Yeah, VE. We've promised the girls breakfast "out" on Wednesday when we take the Daughters of Chaos over to the vet's office for their spaying appointment. We have to have them there between 7:15 and 7:30 am which is ridiculously early for us.  We will eat breakfast, pick up anything we need in town, then come home and go back to bed! Skywise has taken the day off so we will be able to pick them up that evening so they can recover at home.  I'm not expecting to get a lot done that day.

Thanks, hon. There will be a certain amount of nervous floor pacing while waiting for them to be out of surgery.  I know that the surgery is routine for a "pet vet" and the chance that something would go wrong is vanishingly small but I STILL worry and will until we've had them home for a few days and they are back to bouncing off the walls.....

Morning!

I've been around for a while but was busy catching up... Still not there quite yet!

It's drizzling out there... I probably won't get my walk in unless it eases up. That ticks me off because this would have been the first day that I would not have froze my butt of while walking since a week or so ago!!

I did some rereading/editing on the scene I finished last night... I think I WILL be adding more details to it but by the looks of things the majority of the work on it is done for its first draft. I also did an official word count, the first one I've done since October of 2011... It's coming along really good now that I have more time to write!! I'll post the update in my Writings and Grumblings thread shortly.

Hubby will be going to run errands this morning so I'll be buried in the writing while he's gone. I'm hoping to get more added to the MMLTG file today. I probably won't get up to the point where I'll be splicing in the scene I wrote last night but each word I write is one word closer to splicing things together after all! Cheesy

One word, one sentence, one paragraph, one page at a time is my mantra for writing!! Cheesy

I am around for a bit. I'll be getting caught up but I WILL be here for a while at least!! Cheesy

Time to check the SP Pets and get coffee #2 into my system... Cheesy

A friend of mine is retiring one of her Corgis from the show ring as of today. He's aging and not feeling the best so she thought it would be best if he retired from shows but still participated in other things like obedience shows, etc. He's a great dog and she's planning to spoil him even more rotten now that he's no longer in the main shows. He's retiring as a champion (multiple time) and she is so proud of him.

Afternoon!
I'm here, FINALLY! The thunderstorms started a couple of hours after I went to bed and I didn't get much sleep until they had passed.  We have WIND now since a cold front is on the way and snow flurries are expected this evening.
Gotta love the weather in Indiana!

Hubby now has two furballs fighting over his lap... Grin

I got ran over by a psychotic white fluffball while writing this morning. I have NO CLUE what had gotten into Miss Noelle but boy she was NUTS for a while!! She was attacking the chair, pouncing on my sneakers and trying to eat the laces, zooming up and down the stairs, HOWLING at me and attacking everything in sight!

I am REALLY surprised I didn't get dive bombed for a change... She's the main dive bomber in the house and she's the older cat at 16 years old!! Shocked

The vet's office called to remind us about the kits appointments tomorrow. They can't have any food or water after 8 pm. I thought it was midnight and the older cats aren't going to be happy about that. Oh well, we'll put the food back down when we take the girlcats up to the Guest House for the night. Hopefully they won't catch themselves a mouse while they are there.

Greetings!  Smiley  I am taking a break...  Finally got my first pair of real socks made but haven't done the kitchener stitch to close the toes yet.  Tried about 10 times.. screwed it up so I am  leaving it be for awhile.  MB is seriously cold today, got to -40C with wind chill.  My oldest is working outside in this.  He applied to the college today.  Should get his acceptance letter in a couple weeks.  Smiley  So far there still isn't any waiting list for the tech course he wants so that's awesome news! 

Penth, 8pm seems so early, I'm guessing the vet wants at least a 10 hour fast before hand then?  I think it's a good time of year to get them done, not alot happening out when it's colder so they won't feel as if they're missing out on anything Smiley  I'll be sending some healing energy their way!


Well, I'm going to try the socks again, wish me luck!

Thanks, hon. I suspect that the girlcats are going to have their surgery early in the day since, if anyone has looked at the records of our cats, they know we prefer to bring them home as soon as they are released rather than have them overnight at the vet's.  For one thing, the office isn't normally staffed after office hours and two, they will be less stressed recovering at home with their hoomanz.
