Hearing about salt on roads and plowing snow definitely makes me want to visit a place with the fluffy white stuff but not live there.

Worse I've ever had to deal with here are dirt roads where they are washboard if the graters don't come by often enough (heavy rain will also turn them into a big muddy mess)

UGH, I HATE it when a dirt road gets like that too! Our road is paved but even then it's terrible... Potholes, cracks, uneven pavement, ruts in the pavement, etc... The DOT doesn't repair/maintain the non "main roads" at all unless it's a year for a provincial election... Roll Eyes

Afternoon!
I'm here and it's COLD! Smiley

This road used to be "unimproved county road" which is to say, dirt and gravel so I know what you mean, Sita. We only got about 1.5 inches last night so we didn't need much in the way of plowing. They plowed it lightly and put down some salt/sand.  Once we got to the "main" road (the one that goes straight to the highway) it was clean and dry although there were little eddies of snow blowing across it.  Those were more pretty than hazardous though.

Found the right place. FINALLY!
NOW I'm "fitting" it into place with more new material.
Adding new material "may" mean having to transfer some of the chapter it went into to the next chapter and so on and so on.
I don't think I'm going to get back to Chapter 11 tonight....

I have just ran Skywise's mother's surname -- which fortunately is NOT the same as his -- through Google. I got 33 Facebook returns. ALL of them are in Eastern Europe except my youngest BIL, his (I think ex-) wife and his son (who I have never met). ALL of those people are related and from the same tiny town of the same name. Yes, the name IS that rare and it isn't pronounced AT ALL like it looks!
Yes, I am pathetically glad that Skywise's stepfather did NOT adopt him! Smiley

Afternoon everyone!

Son had a checkup at the doctor's this morning and we ran some errands afterwards... I think I cleaned out the produce section of the grocery store, I picked up a LOT of fresh fruits and veggies today! Red onions, scallions, red peppers (sweet), apples, pears, turnip/rutabaga, lemons (for lemon-thyme chicken) and carrots is only the tip of the iceberg.... Cheesy I would have gotten more but Hubby kinda dragged me out of that area.................... Tongue

I'm in for a couple of hours... Now to get caught up!!  Smiley

I've been working on Book 3 and reading a very long and detailed article on another site. I haven't made up my mind about it yet but I'm inclined to think that there is something to it.

We'll I got everything hammered into shape back in Chapter 9 where I had to insert something. I had to do some research so that took a while and the neat thing is that it didn't make the chapter excessively long so I won't have to move any of it to the following chapter. NOW I can get back to work on Chapter 11!

Hello all!

It's a VERY chilly day here, temps are not supposed to come near the freezing mark at all, our highs today are supposed to be around -10 cwith a windchill of -18 C/0F. BRRRRRRRRRRRR.... Thank the gods for HALOGEN HEATERS is all I'm saying!!  Smiley

Hubby is at work, Son is watching cartoons and I'm fighting with Noelle to keep that fluff ball from hogging the halogen heater right now... She's leaning over the side of the computer tower and blocking the heat from the darn thing!! CATS......... Roll Eyes

I'm around for at least a good part of the daytime if anyone needs me. I'll be doing housework and such but I am in!

Now to finish getting caught up............. And defrosting........

I'm thinking about making a batch of blueberry muffins and trying to decide what to have for lunch... I'm not in the mood for muffins, Son has been asking for them, so I HAVE to make him a batch at some point.....

Had the oddest dream last night.  It was a sort of Romeo and Juliet thing, except with fairies.  And not just any fairies, but a Seely queen and an Unseely king who had both been cursed to live as humans until they found true love.  And as humans, they forgot they were fae.  So of course, they had no idea when they found each other and fell in love that they were queen and king of enemy courts.

And now... I must write this into a novel.
