*sigh*  I went outside to take a measurement.
I discovered that Spirit has been building dams in the drainage trench I dug the last time the gutters overflowed, the window well filled up and the water ran into the basement. So I fetched the shovel, dug out the dams PLUS the dirt that had built up behind them and ran water down the trench to be sure everything was cleared out. No cloudbursts are expected but sure as the world if I didn't get that trench cleared, we'd have one, the gutters would overflow and I'd have water in the basement again. Then I did what I intended to do when I went out in the first place.
And since I did NOT come back in the house for a pair of work gloves, I AM expecting blisters later this evening.....

I just got another blog up and am contemplating what to do next... I may do a little more editing before handing the computer over to my son who is demanding it YESTERDAY......... KIDS. Roll Eyes

No kidding! I just "love" clearing blockages in drainage ditches in the dark (when it ALWAYS happens) in a downpour..

And they ALWAYS want it "yesterday" -- when they aren't wanting it last week!

I just about upchucked myself and I haven't eaten anything since supper!! EW EW EW EW EW EW EW EW!!!!!!!!!

On a BETTER note, the first round of the NHL draft is happening now... My boys, TORONTO had the fifth pick and they got who seems to be one HECK of a good defenseman... They showed a clip of the young man skating down the ice and scoring a goal. Can that kid ever MOVE, it's like he has wings on his skates!! Shocked

Morning.

Hubby let me sleep in for a while this morning... I haven't gotten a full cup of coffee in me yet!

Hubby works tonight and tomorrow night. I've got a mild case of laryngitis so hopefully Son doesn't decide to go crazy cause I can't yell at him if he's being naughty a lot, I sound like a freaking MOUSE... Roll Eyes

NHL trivia: My team, the Toronto Maple Leafs, do not give the young men they draft a baseball cap right away... The higher ups in the franchise say it obscures the young man's face so they don't give them the ball cap with the TML on it until after photos are taken.

I'm here on and off between rounds of thunderstorms.

I just realized that I haven't posted here yet today.
I've been working my little posterior off since we got back from Greenwood just after noon. The wardrobe is almost in position to be stood upright. It's gonna be a bit of a tight fit but we'll make it. I SO want to get all this done and get to dancing!

And I've also been catching up on housewife type chores. Smiley

I know it! All three of us (my brother, my sister and I) are all so darn different... Brother is the quintessential computer geek and a nerd... Sissy is a a narrow minded, self centered, brainless dingbat who thinks she knows it ALL and she's "right" all of the time... And then there's me... I'm an aging rocker-chick with a goofy sense of humor, likes to write and who is so open minded compared to the rest of the family.

My husband and his two brothers are a lot alike in so many ways, except the two BILs got musical talent and Hubby couldn't play an instrument or sing his way out of a WET paper bag.... Cheesy

Son slept in until a little after 7!! WOOT!! (It's a rarity for him to sleep in past 6:30 on his days home)

I actually slept a little last night and except for a bit of a cough and some sinus gunk, I'm feeling halfways human. Tongue
