Skywise got home about an hour ago and I've been working on the first chapter of Book 2 which is now a page shorter than it was thanks to my tightening up the prose and cutting out the "dead wood." Now, I'm gonna take my tired little self to bed. We will be making a supply run into town first thing so I'll be a bit late.

Morning.

We did make it down to the beach after all... Son didn't want to go at first but after a LOT of sweet talk and getting him out in the car, then finding a shell, he was fine and we all had a blast. It was foggy, wet, drippy and cooler but it was worth cooling off! It was about 15 (F) cooler down there than it was back here!

I'm going to be around for a bit then I'll be heading up to the DMV to get my license renewed, it expires on our birthday here in Nova Scotia. BLECH. Hopefully the line won't be too long and I'll be home within six hours............... Tongue

Time to get caught up and start getting ready with hair washing/showers and what not...

Found out what it's gonna take to get that wardrobe door ready (again!) to paint. I'll do that tomorrow and it "should" be ready to hang by Saturday or Sunday.

I also found out why rain water keeps getting into the window well despite the gutters not overflowing. When I checked the drain just now I discovered that there was about an inch and a half gap around the metal flashing around the window well. I got out the hose and sure enough, water hitting the ground around the flashing was running straight into the well! [insert foul language!] So I got the shovel, dug out some of the dirt that had been carried into the well plus some extra and piled it around the flashing and then watered it down. I kept adding dirt and water until it stopped flowing in. When I have more time, I'll build it up some more.

We actually have HUMIDITY!
Currently 70% with a temp of 71 degrees. I am perfectly willing to endure the discomfort to have the humidity levels back to near normal. Things won't dry out so dang fast!

Back from the DMV and errands...

The "new" licenses up here have a person's height and eye color listed on them now. According to the license, my eyes are "bro" and my height is... Well, I'm SHORT! Tongue

It is a LOT hotter in town than what it is here... Out here it's about 24 C and in town, 30 C.  Smiley The humidity is HIGH too, we're due to get rain later tomorrow, maybe thundershowers along with it. Roll Eyes

I'm here for the rest of the afternoon between dishes and other things. Now to get caught up again!!!

The door is now sanded down as smooth as I'm likely to get it without taking it down to the bare wood. I wiped it down with damp paper towels so it is going to have to dry for quite a while before I paint it so I probably won't get to it before 6 tonight. I'll decide tomorrow if it needs another coat or not. In any event, I "should" be hanging it by Friday afternoon at the latest. THEN I get to start on the other door. At least the weather will be much cooler than it has been and I know what to do to speed things up.

Mine are prowling in and out the kitty door.

The rain has perked everything up. The pollen is out and my eyes are feeling icky. I'm going to go close them while I have the chance. Skywise leaves for work in an hour and a half.
