There are a few squirrels around here, and boy they are SASSY today. We have only the American Red squirrels in our part of the province, and although they are cute, they do like to tell everyone off sometimes. LOL

There are gray squirrels in the province but not this far south. They're mostly in the Annapolis Valley and the more northern and eastern parts of the province right now.

Things are a lot more lined up and in line with the timeline for Book 2 and I'm starting to feel the writing fog come over me. I'm going to head out now and hopefully when I get back later today, I'll be able to report I managed to get a lot added to Book 2.

We've been pinging around the internet gathering info like wildflowers in the spring. We'll be going to the Fall Foliage Festival parade this Sunday. The parade is scheduled to start at 1:30 pm so we'll probably be clearing out of here around 12:30 - 12:45 pm unless we decide to have lunch before the parade which I doubt that we'll do. We normally eat afterward so I expect that we'll be back around 3 depending on how long the parade lasts.
I'm reasonably sure that we won't be bringing home any kittens this year......

Today is my "chill and relax" day, and tomorrow is "prep for Thanksgiving" day. I have a LOT to do to be ready for Monday, and like Penth, I like to get a few things done BEFORE the insanity starts at supper time here on Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow, I'll be making a small batch of my mom's recipe for stuffing/dressing (cooking it on the side of course!), getting a head start on the potatoes for my thyme roasted wedges and a few other things. We're not having pie here, I'm making cheesecake for dessert. (I'm not supposed to eat a lot of stuff like that but once in a LONG while is okay!). I'll probably peel the carrots and soak them overnight in the fridge too, so that much is out of the way. I also have mushrooms and onions to help flavor the broth that comes off of the chicken (the guys prefer it over turkey, me, I like BOTH!) and I'll do the rest on Monday while Hubby is working during the daytime.

We have everything for it, thank the stars so I'm just going to veg out and try to recover from yesterday's writing marathon... My eyes are KILLING ME so I'm probably NOT going to open either manuscript today and just play games in FB for a change.................

Kinda tired. Some moron in an alcohol induced haze wrecked -- as in flipped it on its side -- his car this morning about 100 feet south of our driveway sometime before 5:30 am. THAT didn't wake me up.
The arrival of the ambulance/EMTs, sheriff's cars and fire trucks didn't wake me up.
Skywise coming back into our bedroom after he and Moonie had investigated DID wake me up and I didn't get back to sleep for two hours. *sigh*
For the record, the alcohol soaked idiot was awake and talking when the EMTs took him away. I expect that he will live to drive another day. Soberly, I hope.

The neighbors across the road are having a party and someone to the southwest is setting off a fireworks "grand finale" worthy of the 4th of July. This wouldn't be a problem except that Warrior Princess is outside -- somewhere -- and likely isn't happy about all the noise. Skywise and Moonie are out in the woods looking for the little hairball....

I'm here. I wound up dozing on the chair a good part of the afternoon into the evening and still slept most of the night. I finally woke up at 6:45 when Son started talking to himself, quite loudly, and I said we may as well get up, so we did. I had a nice snuggle with Cat before we got up too, she was purring up a storm and in the mood to let me rub her tummy all I wanted to. She's irresistible! Cheesy

I'll be here into this afternoon but I'm going to be quiet... I'll be working on editing and getting things prepped, then watching the Doctor Who marathon on Space.

Morning. I'm getting some canned goods gathered up for the food drive one of the local churches is holding during the parade today. We have a bit more than usual due to the changes in Skywise's diet. It's perfectly good food, just more sodium in it than he can have. *sigh* The parade starts at 1:30 pm local so I'll be gone most of the afternoon.

Okay. I just finished loading six Walmart bags of canned goods that we can't use due to sodium content into the van. Those No Salt Added diced tomatoes with "through the roof potassium" levels went into the bags as well. There is definitely more room in the pantry now and I'll be spending some time this week reorganizing it. Once I get all the shelves in the cabinets, there may be room for some canned good storage there too. During the winter months, I tend to keep a small "stockpile" so I don't run short in case of an ice storm or blizzard.
