	Afternoon. We were able to make our "produce run" this morning without battling the weather and/or rescheduled appointments! YAY US! Skywise is on his way to work and the weather looks to be reasonably seasonable for the next week. That could change though so I'm not gonna bet any money on it!

	I'm sitting here wearing a sweatshirt with a tee-shirt under it and I have a double layer of an afghan on my lap and I'm going to get up and get my fleece jacket as soon as I finish posting this. I'm cold and I just ordered a set of blackout/thermal curtains for the patio door in front of me which might as well be open for all the good it does to keep the cold out. Yeah, I know. Glass is NOT a great insulator. Anyway, if these new curtains do the trick, I'll be getting them for every window in the house. This place was designed when "cold" wasn't much of a problem. Judging from the news out of Europe, those days are long gone.....

	Afternoon. The curtain I ordered is scheduled to arrive tomorrow according to "Track and Confirm" which is good since a Polar Vortex is heading this way. Skywise is on his way to work. He'll be on one of the docks and I hope he doesn't get too cold.

	It's currently 22 degrees and snow is moving in. It's supposed to be light in this area but that could change. I'm sitting here with a lap robe over my legs and my ankles are still cold. I'll be glad with that curtain gets here.....

	Afternoon. We managed to get everything done that needed doing this morning. The new curtain for the back door came but since Skywise isn't here, it can't be put up until tomorrow. Rats. It's gonna be colder than a polar bear's toenails later in the week so that will be the first real test. I'm going to get prone for a while then get busy. Lots to do.....

	Skywise just called and I'm heading out. It's 14 degrees. I don't know the wind chill but it has to be cold. He said he was warm enough. Fortunately, the Dinkmobile warms up really fast so if he needs to be thawed out, he will be in short order. Everyone sleep well, be safe and keep warm!

	The email didn't show up until around 4:50 but I managed to get it paid. It is unacceptably cold in the main bathroom. I'll bet money that I don't have that there is little to no insulation behind the tub "wall". My hair is finally dyed. Hopefully, I won't catch a cold.

	I just ordered thermal blackout curtains for the girls' rooms which are particularly cool right now. The current polar vortex is supposed to lift back up to the north by the end of the week but there WILL be a "next time" and I want to be ready.

	Afternoon. Greetings from Hoth 2.0 It was -8 degrees, -30 wind chill when we left for the produce run this morning. It was the same when we got back. It is currently either -3 or -5 -- depending on which source you consult -- with wind chill -20 degrees. The Postal Service has cancelled deliveries statewide so I'm justified in calling Indiana Hoth 2.0. Of course, Skywise still has to work since while nothing will be delivered, mail will still be coming in from outlying post offices which will be open and it will need to be processed. "I" will probably be doing more laundry. sigh

	I've come to a conclusion. Given how hideous I look with long white hair, I have GOT to dye my hair more often! Like as soon as there's about a quarter to a half inch of new growth!

	It's now 1 degree F., with wind chill of -12 and the farther north you go, the colder it is. Spirit learned to be very careful with fire today. She burned a hole in her glove while tending a fire. Fortunately, she isn't hurt and the fire is out. She needs new gloves though. I have a spare pair she can use until she can get some new ones and she probably should get some leather ones for fire tending.

	Afternoon. Went into town for my doctor's appointment and lunch. It's cold but the wind has FINALLY died down. It's supposed to snow tonight and be near 60 by Sunday. I've changed into sweats and I'm in for the day.
