	#2817 Rewritten by Penthesilea Asleep in his quarters, Kodiak struggled to wake. Deep in his subconscious he knew that something threatened his sworn Lady. Penthesilea wass in trouble. She needed him but he cannot wake. Mar-Nek wanted him out of the way for the duration. Fortunately for the God, Jasmine was more than happy to provide unwitting cooperation in that endeavor.

She had never seen this particular curse in action and she wondered how far it would push the Keyholder. She knew that her God�s plan called for her to �break� the curse on Penthesilea and in that way gain the Keyholder� gratitude and that of her brother. She, of course, could not lift the curse. Only the kiss of one who truly loved Penthesilea who also was not parent, sibling or child could break the curse and that certainly wasn�t Satira! But as Mar-Nek had set the curse, he could also lift it when the time came. Satira�s stomach gave a lurch and she blanked the mirror. She would need to do some research and devise a suitably impressive bit of mumbo jumbo to use when the time came for her to save the Keyholder.

It is small life but it is life and what she is doomed to consume.. And still, it is not enough. Frantic, she tears at the tree with her fingers, tearing her nails. She doesn't feel it. All she knows is that the Hunger continues unabated...... Inside the predatory thing that she has become, Penthesilea knows what is happening to her and weeps.....
