	#2849 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Jasmine�s search for Kodiak quickly proves fruitless and when she discovers that Penthesilea is also missing, her jealous fury knows no bounds. She returns to her chamber and manages to scry a general location for the missing Keyholder. She can find no trace of Kodiak. No matter! She snarls in frustration but knows that where Penthesilea is, Kodiak is likely nearby and so she casts a teleport spell and appears in the woods far from the Castle. Having spent some time as a mercenary pursuing her father�s goals, Jasmine has some skill at tracking and she quickly locates Penthesilea�s hiding place. She is shocked at the change in the beautiful Keyholder but that is quickly replaced by satisfaction at the thought that Kodiak would not find Penthesilea so desirable now! Thoughts of Kodiak recoiling in disgust from Penthesilea are entirely too much of a temptation to resist. Jasmine resolves to bring the Keyholder back to the Castle so that all can see how far she has fallen. With Penthesilea a raving madwoman it would be a simple matter for her and her father to gain control of the Castle, especially if Lord Stephan could restore Penthesilea to some semblance of sanity, at least for as long as it would take for him to marry the Keyholder! Jasmine approaches the Keyholder and kneels down to nudge her awake.....

For long seconds the feral face hangs above her. Penthesilea: Behold, little Jasmine, the reality of the vampire! No silk! No ecstasy! There is only blood and death and damnation here! Do not follow the undead path! Not for love not for immortality not for anything! In a flash, Jasmine's mind is filled with visions of the horrors that Penthesilea has experienced. She gags at the memories. Finally, her mind clears. I give thanks to the Gods for Their allowing me to warn you. Penthesilea stands, moving more like an animal than a human. 	#2852 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Hissing in fury, Jasmine scrambles to her feet. Were it not for her father�s plans for her, Jasmine would happily destroy the Keyholder. With difficulty, Jasmine gets herself under control. Kodiak was obviously no where around and she still needed to find him. Jasmine knew well how much Penthesilea loved her Lord Marshall and she could well imagine how painful it was for her to watch them together. Jasmine planned to make the Keyholder miserable as often as possible! Another way to get back at Penthesilea suddenly occurred to Jasmine. She would send those servants that she had subverted out to spread rumors of Penthesilea�s jealousy of Jasmine and her unnatural lust for her Lord Marshall. Ruining Penthesilea�s spotless reputation would have to do until the woman herself could be destroyed. With her plan fully formed in her mind, Jasmine cast a spell and returned to the Castle to set it in motion.

	#2854 DarkLord Kodiak After losing track of the Keyholder and searching for hours he returns to th Castle. Still finely dressed in his finest black robes feels different now. The headaches have stopped and his confidence is boosted. Although a feeling as any Dark Knight gets from time to time a small thirst for blood. Looks around to try and find Daemon or Jasmine.

	#2855 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Kodiak walks through the Castle halls on the way from his quarters, having satisfied his need for blood. Satira sees him and quickly hides in an alcove. As much as she wants to offer herself to him, now is not the time. Mar-Nek has given her specific instructions to carry out and a dalliance with a handsome, lusty Darklord could interfere with those instructions. Later, however, bringing the Darklord under her influence would be necessary and there was no man living that she could not control once he had been in her bed. So she stood and watched him pass, lust glowing in her like a raging bonfire and knew that her time would come.

	#2862 Penthesilea Without a word, without warning, Penthesilea knocks the sword from his hand and throws him across the clearing and into a tree. Stunned, he falls, face up, on the ground. In a flash, she is on him, pinning his hips to the ground with her own and his shoulders with her hands. Penthesilea was always strong for her size but now, the much larger Lord Marshall is helpless in her hands. She leans close as if to kiss him as she had done before but she does not! Instead, she hovers above him and lets him see what she has become. Her eyes blaze with hunger and fury and madness. Her fangs are crusted with gore and the stinking mess streaks her face and hair. She comes closer and grazes his neck with her fangs. She feels his skin quiver under her teeth. His blood is a temptation she can resist. His blood is forbidden to her. Instead, she breathes her message into his ear. �You did this. You wanted me to feel regret for what I had done. Someone heard you and granted your wish! I will be thus until until I die and then, I am damned!* She withdraws from his neck and he can again see her eyes. He has seen the expression in them before but not in the eyes of anyone alive and never in the eyes of a woman he had come to care for. Hers were the eyes of the eternally damned. She stands and stares down at him and then wails to the uncaring sky.* How do you think the daughter of a god is punished? With a nod to the jackal spirit, she flees without a backward glance. The Hunger has taken her again.....

The voice is rough and torn and nothing like the voice he knows but he recognizes it nonetheless. It is his half sister, Penthesilea, who wails like the damned. He looks down the trail he was following. Then back the way he came. The voice comes again and his decision is made. He heads for the Castle at his best speed..

	2873 Penthesilea Deep in the woods, hidden from any who may search for her, Penthesilea finally sleeps. Her dreams are as much a punishment as her waking hours. She dreams ... the dead surround her, their bodies falling from her hands. Servants. Friends.... the Darklord... Penthesilea writhes and whimpers in her nightmare. Her daughter SpiritFire lies lifeless on the floor, what little blood she had left pooled beside her head. MoonCat falls lifeless, her beautiful eyes open in death as she drops from her mother's hands. Penthesilea tries but cannot wake.* One is left and she stalks him. He sees his death in her eyes. He tries to end her torment but she evades his strikes and closes for her own. Like a striking serpent, she drives her fangs into the throat of her brother and she drinks him until he too, drops to her feet in death. Finally, Penthesilea is permitted to wake and her screams make the stones weep...*

With a savage kick, he tears the doors from their hinges. �Where is my sister!� he bellows. �What in the names of the Gods has happened here?� Satira is in the Great Hall subtly fueling the fears of anyone who will listen to her when she hears Daemon�s bellowed question. Inwardly, she smiles and hurries to give him Mar-Nek�s version of events.

	#2879 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] In Paradise Valley, Lord Stephan had been following events with considerable alarm. That someone else might gain control of the Keyholder and her Castle did not please him in the slightest but he had no idea who his rival might be. He was fairly certain that he recognized the apparent curse that afflicted Penthesilea. If he was correct, the Darklord had to be kept from her at all costs until Lord Stephan had Kodiak under his complete control. Because if he was correct, Kodiak was the only one who could restore the Keyholder to sanity and Lord Stephan needed her sane, at least until the handfasting and the bedding after were accomplished! Once he had undisputed control of the Lady and her lands, he didn�t care if she was sane or not! Jasmine would need instructions, he decided, and it was too dangerous to use magickal communication. He sent a servant to summon his favorite sorceress. In the guise of a servant, she would carry his words to his daughter.

	#2880 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Down in the Great Hall, Satira has finished her recitation of the events leading up to Penthesilea�s madness. Or at least, those facts that are agreed upon. Satira had done her best to cast at least faint suspicion on Jasmine. Satira wanted both the Darklord and the Keyholder�s brother for herself and she correctly saw Jasmine for what she was. She would not expose her unless she had to. Dealing with a Succubus was a chancy business even with a God as powerful as Mar-Nek as your patron and Satira did not wish to find out too late that her God considered her expendable.

	#2881 [Rewritten by Penthesilea] Jasmine sighed contentedly in her bubble bath. She was alone -- which annoyed her immensely -- but it gave her time to think. She had already given a highly biased account of her forest encounter with Penthesilea to those she knew would not question her truthfulness. By dawn, the Castle would be abuzz with her tale of Penthesilea's insane jealousy and that her �madness� was nothing more than a ploy to gain Kodiak�s sympathy and attentions. Penthesilea would be captured at some point and she, Jasmine, would need to have a story ready to explain why the Keyholder really was insane and not faking it for sympathy. She mulled over a number of possibilities. In no way could the Keyholder be put in a sympathetic light. The woman would be her stepmother -- in name only -- but Jasmine fully intended to ruin her reputation as much as she possibly could. Jasmine frowned as she considered the Keyholder�s daughters. At last report, they were both hold up in the Keyholder�s Tower trying by every means necessary to find their mother with the intention of bringing her back to the Castle. Jasmine had no real affection for her father -- or for anyone else for that matter -- but she knew that MoonCat and SpiritFire were close to their mother and would not accede to Lord Stephan�s plans for Penthesilea. They would have to be dealt with as soon as possible. Jasmine sighed and sank deeper into her bath. The Keyholder�s daughters were not her assignment. Her father likely had some plans for them that would take them out of the picture permanently or nearly so, so she would not worry about it now. All she had to think about was ways to ruin Penthesilea and, of course, the next time she got her hands on the Darklord�s magnificent body ....
