	I'm back! Spirit and Skywise decided that we should have roast beef sandwiches at Arby's for dinner so they woke me up and off we went. Unleaded regular is $3.96 a gallon in town.....

	I managed to write a few posts in longhand on the trip down to Louisville this morning. I still have to figure out where they go in the reposts but that shouldn't be too difficult to figure out. I also have a handle on a couple more posts that I haven't written out yet. I've also decided on the elements I'm going to use in the Keyholder's "personal" heraldic device and I know the colors that I want/need to use. Now I just have to figure out how to keep the design from fading into the background when viewed from a distance. There is a reason why those coats of arms that knights wore into battle were bright to the point of garish to modern eyes. They were for identification and needed to be recognizable at a distance. hehehehehe I've also come up with a cool "nickname" for the Keyholder based on an element of her design. So it was a good day creatively. Once this vacation is out of the way -- next week -- I'll be back in writing harness with no foreseeable distractions. Since the current plans calls for simply dumping a lot in the sections that remain, it should go pretty fast.

	Things are starting to get bright, as in reds and oranges, on the local radar so I'm going to head out. Nothing particularly severe is expected but we REALLY DON'T NEED more rain right now! The farmers have crops to plant and the racers have practice to get out of the way! sigh Everyone sleep well and be safe. I don't know if we have plans for tomorrow or not so don't worry if I'm not here in the morning/afternoon.

	sigh I'm working on the Castle posts. I had forgotten how coying a certain female's fawning over me was. Not to mention irritating and ultimately hypocritical once she showed her true colors. She was posting in the Castle for one reason and one reason only -- to stick close to and keep an eye on someone and it wasn't me. Happily, it did her NO good. She managed to shoot herself in the foot with NO assistance from me. It happens every time. Now what to do with this section that has definite possibilities but is an utter and complete mess.....

	The family has decided that we are having take out chicken for dinner. I've suggested that, since "take out" sides do NOT come up to standard, while they pick up the chicken, I will stay here and fix the potatoes and veggies. This suggestion was met with great acclaim so no sweat about what to fix for dinner tonight.

	I'm going to need to go through my Dover Clip Art collection and see what I have that I can use for Valcaria's World heraldry. I'm beginning to get ideas for various "devises" and the easiest way to design them and get them on the computer is to use clip art from CDs. [Note to self: I've never been at all fond of "Valcaria's World" as an overall term for the Castle project. I came online one morning and there it was with NO input from me whatsoever. THINK OF SOMETHING ELSE before anything goes into print!!!!] There are a lot of Dover books on Amazon and, of course, Dover has its own website but I think I'm going to have to look through the books to see what is in each one. I'd like to avoid buying books/CDs that have no usable items in them. I need swords, roses, dragons, griffins, birds of prey, big cats, borders of various kinds, geometric designs in various sizes and stuff I haven't thought of yet. I've got a BUNCH of different cultures and the way that they do heraldry should reflect those differences. At least it doesn't all have to be done by next Tuesday....

	I'm making headway on the Castle. The break has done me good. I hope to have the "simple" stuff done tonight. Whether or not I do will depend on how late we stay up! Otherwise, I'll get it done tomorrow some time. Then all I'll have left is two or three sections that I want to rewrite now rather than later. If my inspiration holds out, I could have this section done by the end of next week. That will leave me with 3 sections totaling 1,298 posts. The end is in sight! Depending on how many "post numbers" I decide to drop I may combine the last three sections into one or two threads instead of three. Now, back to writing!!

	We took off for the Children's Museum this morning before I had completed my morning resuscitation. [Darned difficult to resuscitate yourself, I can tell you!] They have a very extensive exhibit on Comics and Super-Heroes and the girls wanted to see it. I'll admit it is impressive and more than one item had me drooling. Moonie took a ton of pictures and there is one in particular that I want to post when she gets the camera downloaded. I don't know what 'I' was doing last night while my body was sleeping but I woke up exhausted this morning and I'm still pretty sleepy. I hate it when that happens, especially when I can't remember why I'm so tired.

	Omm: Iced tea and chocolate. Pizza night and paycheck night. EXTREME shopping tomorrow morning and the "final fling" marking the end of Skywise's vacation since he could be scheduled to work on Saturday even though that isn't likely. Saturday/Sunday will be a 'regular' weekend.

	We're back from town and everything is pretty much put away. It's mostly sunny -- which is a nice change from the seemingly perpetual rain -- but a bit cooler than usual for this time of year. I think I'm going to make some fresh tea and see what I can do with the Castle around other chores.

	hehehehehe I'm touching up some 'naughty business' in the Castle. It was great fun to write at the time. At least, 'I' had fun doing it! I'm also checking out nude photo references for the artist. What can I say? There's a reference book I hope to get this weekend but it isn't nudes -- almost but not quite since it is a reference for comic book artists mostly rather than "fine art." There is a new law here in Indiana, currently under challenge by the Indiana Civil Liberties Union and the Indianapolis Museum of Art, that would require any bookstore selling nude photo reference books or books featuring photos of statuary or paintings of nudes to register with the state as sellers of explicit material along with adult book/video stores. The law goes into effect soon and once it does and until the suit is settled, finding anything featuring a naked human being in a respectable bookstore is likely to be difficult. sigh Another instance of "unintended consequences". I'm reasonably sure that the state legislature and the governor did NOT intend to class Borders, Barnes & Noble and the state's various art museums as porn shops.... I ramble. Back to work!

	Still working on the Castle reposts. I had to go hunting for some additional "non-Castle" posts that I needed. They need some rewriting but I NEEDED them for a post of mine to make sense. Now I have to start dinner so I'll be thinking rewrites while I'm peeling potatoes and oven-frying chicken.

We're back. I got the book I wanted and I'm quite happy. I'm not much of an artist -- the artistic talent in the family passed straight from my aunt to Moonie -- but I still like to draw occasionally and I like to collect art instruction and reference books. We're planning on going to the track tomorrow -- the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for those of you live outside Central Indiana -- for the last day of qualifications. We're praying that it doesn't rain -- along with virtually everyone involved in the race. It has been a very soggy "Race Month" so far and the only thing worse than having both weekends of qualifications rained out is have it rain on Race Day. Anyway, my tote is already loaded with writing materials, reading materials (in case I have to wait out a rain delay) and sunscreen. I even have the new hat that I bought Tuesday when we went to Louisville. The cameras will go into the tote at the last minute and I will most likely throw in my CD player and some disks, just in case of rain. A trip to the track is not a bad ending to our vacation. Monday will be back to the work routine and the countdown to the vacation in September. Need tea. Need snack cake. Need to get writing!

	I'm back. I have been for a bit and I AM making some progress with the "red jello" sequence. Replacing the trademarked name for one thing.. It was pretty gloomy looking for a while but the sun has come out again so I'm betting that much "zoom! zoom!' is going on at the track since it will close for the day at 6 EDT. I'm looking forward to tomorrow. All will be great if I can just manage to avoid getting sunburned!

	The weather's looking good for tomorrow. There is a front with rain coming down from Wisconsin but it should be outta here before the track opens tomorrow. The field is full and there are at least 4 cars ready to qualify so there should be plenty of zoomzoom. Teams will be testing race day set-ups tomorrow too as well as making sure that backup cars are ready if needed. Yes, we will all have earplugs. Indy cars are LOUD. More that one Indy car is ear splitting! I need to dig out my backpack to carry stuff into the stands. If things go as per usual, we will be parking on the infield, probably at the 3rd or 4th turn and we will watch the action from the Grandstands across from Gasoline Alley a.k.a. Pit Row and that is a bit of a hike! It is also "Armed Forces Day" at the track tomorrow and there will be TONS of military gear on display around the museum. [Yes, there is a museum at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.] We'll be looking at all of that too! Yes, there is a lot to do at the track!

	Well, the situation with the jello pit is handled and now I'm working on the last 15 - 20 posts in this section which were a mix of real life and roleplaying. I'm going to see what I need for the lead in to what's already posted. Depending on what I find, I might just dump these posts and concentrate on what I need to keep and rewrite that. Need more tea, I think....

	I'm reminded that I haven't checked the miniatures manufacturers for a while. I'm still working on the Castle model and I need minis to populate it. I think I'll be opening a tab later and see what's been added to the various manufacturers' sites..
