	I'm doing a little "free writing" right now. I don't know how much if any of it I'll keep but I'm using it to get my thoughts in order about this new character and how she connects with Our Heroine. Aside from being an extraordinary healer -- more on that later -- she has the ability to put people at ease, draw them out and make them laugh, sometimes in spite of themselves. I have a feeling I'll be using her a lot once Our Heroine's troubles begin....

	Well, it looks like, after some rearranging, the "free writing" will be staying. I only deleted a little of it and after some shuffling, the rest of it fits pretty well. Vision is getting blurry and the cognitive functions are slowing down so I'm going to quit for a while. I might write more later but right now, I'm going to go close my eyes.

	I'm still trying to decide what my new character looks like. Her father is a Greek god (Asclepius) so there's that to consider as far as her appearance is concerned but I haven't decided on her mother's human subspecies. Most of the current cast is some variant of "Caucasian" so I want her mother to be from one of the other "subspecies" or one of the other humanoid races that are genetically compatible with Samgaran humans. If I do that, I may have to rewrite the specifics of the species since those races tend not to interbreed with "humans" much.

	Arrogant, mouthy slut will be a short term sex slave to the King she insulted. Since she believes herself to be better than anyone, especially Our Heroine, this punishment will be particularly humiliating. I love it!

	I'm writing a little before I get prone -- hope I can get out of this chair when I'm done. Our Heroine is taking Our Hero's hide off (verbally) in strips. Anyone who thought he was acting like an idiot while under the influence of various women in the first couple of books ain't seen nothing yet! Can you say "diplomatic incident serious enough to merit execution or a declaration of war?" Yeah, it's that bad......

	I'm currently trying to pick a location for the above mentioned diplomatic incident. I'm also working on the justification for his foster-father to beat the out of Our Hero. "Just because" isn't a good enough reason.....

	I've picked the location -- one of the major islands in the Southern Islands chain -- so now I have pick a name for it and its king and work out exactly what the major female pain in the posterior does that causes Our Heroine to have to fight a duel...

	I've added some new material to Book 4 and it is a bit difficult. I SO want to kill the above mentioned "female pain in the posterior". I want to pound her into a messy paste and it is too damned soon to do that! She has a TON of other bitchy "deserving of a bare knuckle beating" stuff to do first -- including starting a war. So I'm having to hold back and it is DAMNED HARD!!

	STILL having trouble. This section needs a lot of work but I'm wanting to progress too fast. Do other writers have problems like this? Specifically, aching to kill off a character before they've served their purpose? Maybe I should rewrite her death to make it more gruesome....

	Well, the arrogant, mouthy slut has just been dragged off to be a sex slave for the next twenty days. Since I'm not writing soft core (or any other "core") porn, I won't be going into details. Our Hero is furious with Our Heroine for sanctioning it (as amends to the King the slut insulted) and the fight about it is in progress. Our Heroine has just accused him of wanting her dead so he and the mouthy slut can go their merry way without his inconvenient consort. I have not yet decided just how he's going to respond to that. 	I've decided to leave out the assassination attempt. While it does convey a tidbit of information it isn't vital to the story, doesn't set up a later scene and just doesn't move the story forward so I'll keep the idea in my mental file for some future project. Maybe a short story set between Destinies and Book 4.

	I need to pull out my copy of *Bruce Lee's Fighting Method: The Complete Edition* for this fight scene. It's not going to be all that long but I want it to be accurate and that means research. I'm probably not going to get it done tonight but I'm hoping to get the research started.

	Dinner's over and I've been working on killing the above mentioned fictional bitch. What I wrote originally simply isn't an EPIC enough final battle so I've been going through it line by line and reworking it. It's slow going because I have three or four different ways that she could die that could be combined in various ways. The goal now is to come up with the best combination or something better.

	I've been checking some reference that I've written for the larp to make sure that it lines up with what's in the books and vice versa. So far so good. I'm still working on "bloody, gruesome death" for the arrogant slut. An eye gouge may be required. Haven't decided yet. WP is in my lap making typing hard so I may be doing more thinking than typing for a while.....

	The cognitive functions have shut down for the night but I got a lot more done tonight than I expected to so I'm quite pleased. Gaps were closed and several scenes were finished. It's all good.

	I've written about a page tonight -- I got an idea and wrote it up -- and I'd probably keep writing but my eyes are burning and I'm tired which means the writing-related cognitive functions are shutting down with the general ones not far behind. So I'll pick it up again tomorrow -- I hope -- or next week. It may take that long to figure out if the next scene should be serious, comical or a combination of both.

	I got an inspiration a couple of days ago and I've been working on scenes for a short story set during Our Heroine's introduction to the "princess life" which will have some intrigue but some funny moments as well. It should be a fun piece for the most part. It's a much needed break for me from Book 4 which sees Our Heroine at the peak of her powers with a lot of heavy "stuff" going down commensurate with her abilities. All the short stories will be set in times when she's younger, less powerful and NOT able to blast the side out of a mountain! No "love life" to speak of since Our Hero is still several hundred years out from being born.

	I'm working on a short tonight and realized that I have an inconsistency between one of my stories and another that comes later. In one story, I need for Our Heroine's sword to come when she calls it -- as it does in the novels -- but in the later story I need for it not to. So I either have to figure out a way around a divine blessing or rework one or the other of the stories.... All the while I'm working on a third story and Book 4. Oh well, at least I'm finding these things before inflicting them on innocent beta readers -- or editors.

	I didn't write today -- cognitive functions weren't functioning all that well -- but I did try out some ideas in my head to get an idea of what might work or might not. I've been thinking mostly about Our Heroine's introduction to the city that she's heiress to and how she gains the respect of the common folk even if they are more than a little taken aback by her. She is not what they're accustomed to thinking of as "princess material." I'm working backwards in a way. In the novels, Our Heroine is at the peak of her powers. In the short stories, my goal is to show how she got to that point. I do NOT make it easy on myself....

	I've been in "recharge mode" the last few days but Monday will see us back to our regular early shift routine which "should" get the cognitive functions back on track. I've got some ideas waiting to be developed so something should jump out at me! Hope so anyway.
