	All these glitches have me wondering when Mercury is going retro again. SO don't need that now. I've been tracking down from information from last year that I finally found. I called Skywise at work to let him know and NOW I'm gonna give up, eat a little something and take some aspirin for this head. I swear it feels like I'm wearing a C-clamp on my temples.

	Well, I took the aspirin and since I was feeling chilly and headachy, I laid down on the bed. Next thing I know, it's 5:30... sigh On the bright side, my headache is gone and maybe I can get a little done before bed.

	Skywise called about 15 minutes ago. He's stranded at work 'cause the car won't start. He's called AAA and was told it would be several hours before he was picked up. I hope that they are wrong. Looks like it is going to be a longer night than I'd planned.

	Skywise just called. He's in the tow truck and on his way out of Indianapolis. I figure that he'll be home in about an hour since they are going to drop the car off at the shop and then they will bring him home. Should be seeing my bed around 3:30 ish...

	Skywise got home a bit before 3 last night after he and the tow truck driver left the car at the auto shop. (I swear, we should have a reserved space there!) We had to go into town this morning so we stopped there on the way home and they'd already found the problem. The new fuel pump that they had installed in December is the problem. Fortunately it is still under warranty so the damage to the bank balance shouldn't be too bad. The owner was NOT a happy lady that it had failed so fast and I suspect that someone is going to get a piece of her mind later today! Anyway, Gods willing, we should have the car back in a day or two..

	I was offline until a few minutes ago because we thought school was going to be let out early due to 4-5 inches of the white stuff coming down today... It wasn't, but that's okay. I was enjoying the quiet here!! The little guy is having a rough time of it since his daddy has been temporarily laid off from work... He's not wanting to go to school and if he does go, he doesn't want to participate in anything. So we decided to try something... Hubby will put on one of his uniform shirts and leave about 7ish, saying he's going to work... He'll stay away until after the little guy gets on the bus and will come home around 7:30... It's the only way I can think of to get the little guy to go to school without a meltdown until Hubby is called back to work. He wants to stay home with his daddy (in his mind, the sun rises and sets on his dad!!) so maybe if we pretend Hubby is working, he'll go to school and participate without any problems. I HOPE... crossing fingers Tomorrow will be the test, that'll be the first day that we're trying it. Praying it WORKS!!!

	Thanks Penth... You're lucky. I literally had to fight with my son this morning to get him to take his Ritalin and get ready for school. I was NOT happy and he knew it. Hubby always left for work about 15 minutes before we headed to the bus stop... He started work at 7:30 at the dealership and had to be there about 10 minutes before that. The bus comes along between 7:20 and 7:30 depending on the weather and if they have a substitute driver. We're also planning on telling the little guy that Daddy has shorter days and gets home just a few minutes before he does.. I hope it works!!!

	It should. fingers crossed. Changes in a work schedule should make sense to him if you can get him to relate it to changes that are sometimes made in his schedule.

	Changes like school getting out early or being canceled... He dealt with school being canceled very well the last few times they've had a snow day, so yeah, it may work. I figure he'll be okay once Hubby's called back to work for real. He was last year, he didn't want to attend preschool when Daddy was laid off and drove him to school. He'd have a meltdown and refuse to do anything his teachers asked him to or refused to even go into the classroom. The only way he'd actually go to preschool without any problems is if I drove him and his father stayed home.

	Anyone else would consider that strange but I don't. I know too well how things like that can upset them. Fortunately, as the girls have gotten older they do better with changes in routine. They may not always like them but they don't always have a meltdown. A "bitchfest" maybe but NOT a meltdown for which I am appropriately grateful!

	Yeah, if there is anyone out there who understands it would be you and Skywise... And Lunacie. Our son's meltdowns HAVE gone down a lot since he's gotten older and more able to verbalize things. However, he still can't quite get his wanting to stay home across, or doesn't want to. I'd rather have a bitchfest over a meltdown any day of the week too, thanks...

	I imagine it would be!! My son is not quite 7 but he's the size of an eight or a nine year old... He's very strong and built like a brick wall. Trying to get him to calm down during a meltdown is hard, I can't imagine how difficult it would be to try to calm down someone who is fully grown!! My son says something cute... When he wants a snack, he will lift his shirt and say "My belly is crunchy!!!" Gotta love him...

	Of course you do! These are very lovable kids when they aren't being excessively autistic. When the girls were younger, they would set each other off. One would melt down and then her sister would "catch" it if they were within earshot of each other and they usually were. What usually happens now is that Spirit will get upset and Moonie will get upset with her because she's upset. We can "usually" get Moonie to calm down so we can get Spirit settled but it doesn't always work. If we're out somewhere, Spirit gets escorted to the vehicle where it's quiet and she can get control of herself since her meltdowns are usually the results of too much stimulation of some sort. The most recent trigger was more people than usual in the bank when we went to cash their checks. Once we were out of the bank and away from the crowd, she was able to settle down.

My little guy is very affectionate even when he's having one of his autistic meltdowns. If we're out in public, taking him to the car is the best way to calm him too. I find that if he does get overstimulated, it's the best way to go. The car is quieter than the stores are, and there isn't as many things in there that could set him off as there are in the stores or other spots. Sometimes just taking him for a drive helps, I find the motion of the car soothes him, it always did, even when he was a baby. I can see why Spirit felt overwhelmed in the bank. I'm not on the spectrum myself and even I mind it when a store/bank/public area is very crowded, it makes my claustrophobia kick in. I can't imagine raising two young people on the spectrum... I have my hands full with my son as it is!! I have a lot of respect for anyone who has more than one child, ASD or not, because I could never imagine having time for more than one myself!! I just spoil my sister's children rotten, so it kinda feels like I have more than one child though. Now that my baby niece is here finally, I have three extra young ones to spoil instead of only two... That reminds me, my nephew said something about coming down and spending a weekend with us this summer... That would be fun if he did!!!

	Spirit is more affectionate now than she used to be. The last couple of years she's been coming up and giving me spontaneous hugs. Omm: FINALLY getting another agent query sent out today. I intended to get one out right after the first of the year but with one thing and another, I haven't had a chance to! Fingers crossed that this one is interested!

	The people who decide when these updates and such are done obviously think that everyone on the internet has a lightning fast, unlimited everything connection so that downloading several hundred megabytes of "whatever" all at once is NO problem at all!

	Yup!!! throws a pair of dirty socks at the people who decide when the "updates" are scheduled for It always seems to happen when my connection is being cranky too. It was so bad while I was in another site earlier, I thought the site had gone wonky on me... Turned out the site is working great, it was my connection that was slower than a glacier!! UGH!!
