Thanks Penth.  Smiley Things are starting to speed up with my connection, finally... However, it's taking forever to load my SP Pets so the internet browser accelerator for my accelerated dial up can cache it and speed it up...

Hi everyone!!

August already... And it's going to be an insane month for me and my family!!

On the weekend of the 13th, my end of the family is having the now annual get together at my aunt and uncle's house, which is an all day event. They only live a couple of miles from us so we won't have to have anyone babysitting the dog, thank the stars. Either Hubby or I will be coming back to the house periodically to let Sargie out and at suppertime to feed him.

The reunion/get together is partly to make sure the family stays in contact with one another and to celebrate the three birthdays that month... My mother's (August 10th), my aunt's (August 14th) and mine (a few days later). So it's going to be one wacky weekend and I probably won't be around too much!! LOL

Then on the 15th and 16th, there is an exhibition of artwork from my end of the family, featuring my great uncle who was a well known woodlands painter. The actual viewings are from noon to 5 p.m. (my time) those days and there are lectures on Uncle's work at 7 p.m. those nights. I'll be going to both days of viewings but possibly only one of the lectures. I'll take pics of some of the work our family has done and I'll share both in my main FB account and some of it in here. Cheesy

Between all of that, getting things geared up for my son starting grade 1 in September, my writing and my online work, I'll be really surprised if I have time to think let alone sleep this month!!

Time to finish things up with my SP Pets and get caught up!!

ETA: No, none of my own work will be in the art exhibition... For one, I am NOT published yet and two, I can't draw or cross stitch whatsoever... Cheesy

Awake.  Already went to the bank, gave a jerk his money, put gas in the tank, bought J a pack of cigarettes for when he gets home, which will make him happy, and bought myself some gravy fries.  Mmm... gravy fries... Smiley

Afternoon!
We're back from town. Since the politicians quit playing chicken with the debt ceiling, we were able to cash the girls' checks without a problem. We had some lunch and made a quick stop at Wal-Mart. I am now guzzling tea and catching up.

At this point, I'd just be happy to have something cold to drink LOL  It is SO hot, that even a glass of ice water is warm before you know it.

Morning!!!

It's currently another hot sunny day but we're supposed to get thunderstorms at some point... So if I suddenly disappear, that's why!!

Here's something cool to note: I am in a couple of FB groups that are for people who suffer from the same kind of neuralgia that I do, and I wound up meeting someone in one of the groups that are from Halifax!! I think I may talk to her more, it's cool having someone with the same somewhat rare condition living in NS!! Cheesy

Time for another coffee and get caught up while I look after my SP Pets in another tab...

Hubby just informed me that he had some kitty insanity this morning, Amber got outside. He did manage to get her after a merry chase around the yard...  Smiley

She's currently snoozing on top of the dirty clothing in the hamper. Hopefully she doesn't make another run for outside for a long time...

Skywise has the cats outside now. The War Queen is hanging around the house but the boys have headed out, they are probably down at the creek with all the fishies and frogs are. Skywise has finished airing up the tires on the van and he's going to track the furry ones down.

I wish Ambers stuck close to the house when she gets out!! She always makes a break for the shed where she can easily hide away from us "hoomans" and not be in reach of hands that may nab her to take her back inside the house... Roll Eyes

Noelle will NOT go outside... She's happy staying in the house, attacking my feet while I am on the computer or snoozing on top of Hubby's good black pants... (She's a long haired white furball so y'all KNOW what kind of a mess that makes!!)

The debt ceiling bill is now law and it will not be necessary to bring back the quaint customs of "tar and feathers" followed by "run out of town on a rail" which have unfortunately fallen out of favor.

The Prince of Midnight decided that this was a good day for a long walk. The girls are looking for him in relays and I promised to call Skywise at work when the little hairball finally has his little furry butt thrown in the house.
