	Afternoon. Skywise just left for work and I've just taken painkillers. I have a lot to do today and my legs can't be allowed to slow me down so.... painkillers before I start anything.....

	Worked in the basement until the legs demanded that I quit. It's still early so once the pain eases off, I'll go back down and do some more.

	I've quit for the night but I've made a space big enough for the tree stand. More work to be done but my legs aren't cooperating so... tomorrow is another day. I found a spot where water leaked into the basement -- when I don't know, it was in a more or less hidden corner -- and more books that need to be salvaged if possible. Something else to do after the holidays. My "post-holiday To Do List" is way too long. sigh

	Afternoon. Cognitive functions are barely online. Skywise got home at 6:20 this morning and we were up at noon. He's at work now and I'm waiting for the painkiller to kick in. I could barely walk this morning and naturally I had to shop at speed. As soon as I can move, I have a ton of stuff to do. Oh happy day. And.... I hate Christmas. Not the way Scrooge did but I can't wait for it to be over. Maybe we'll be able to enjoy the season once Skywise is retired. Post # 40,777

	I had to use package sealing tape to hold the covers on the pies. Whoever takes them out of the carriers will have to be very careful since the foil pans are thinner than last year's and "flex" dangerously. I nearly had a catastrophe TWICE. As it is, one of the pies looks like it has been dropped....

	Moonie and I are agreed that we have enough room for the Christmas tree and the presents. We'll start decorating it tomorrow. The basement still looks like a very disorganized version of the government warehouse at the end of Raiders of the Lost Ark and I'll be doing something about that as my legs permit after the holidays. The first major thing to do is build bookcases. The design is modular so once the first section (which will be about 12.5 feet long) is put up, I can keep adding 4 foot sections to it until I run out of room. Then I'll start on another wall. New rule around here: NO BOOK, MAGAZINE or ANYTHING MADE OF PAPER sits on the floor without being protected by a waterproof container. I found another book that has mildewed. It's too expensive to replace -- unless I can find it on Half Price Books -- and I don't know if I can salvage it.
