     Penthesilea went first to the Housekeeper and arranged for quarters for Kodiak's teacher near the Darklord's own. Then she went to check with the construction boss on the Military Complex project. Then to the office assigned to Hypatia. She went about her tasks with a light heart that she tried to conceal. No one knew that she had reason to be happy. Everyone believed that the Darklord was still involved with Jasmine and her absence from his side was due to an unwillingness to brave the toxic atmosphere that the suitors' arrival had brought to the Castle. No one yet knew of Jasmine’s true nature and Penthesilea was not inclined to let that information become public knowledge just yet. No one knew -- no one could know -- that the choice had been made in Penthesilea's favor, not until they could protect themselves from the disappointed city states.

     *While Penthesilea went about her tasks she was unaware that she was being watched by someone who coveted her. Standing in a shadow as the Keyholder walked into the Entry Hall and then into the Great Hall, the Commander of the Castle Guard watched her pass. She did not see him. He took care to see that she did not. It was not yet time for him to prove his devotion. It was not yet time for her to know that the Gods had appointed him her destined husband and protector. It was not yet time for her to know that Podraza's death and Gillfillan's madness were signs from the Gods that she was to be his. It wasn't time yet but it soon would be....*
