	Afternoon. I spoke too soon last night. I hadn't been offline for ten minutes before the boycats brought the tree down. Skywise and I are presently examining ways to attach the tree to the ceiling or, more likely, the wall to keep them from knocking it over. NO decorations are going on until the tree is secure! Went into town, got lunch, got odds and ends, got the roast for Christmas Day dinner. Successful trip. Gotta start the engineering work on the tree. Later.

	Skywise is getting ready to leave for work. Yeah, really late shift tonight. The tree is anchored to the wall and the ceiling. We'll see how that goes. Spirit has suggested that we get a new tree next year and honorably retire this one. There are a lot of memories in those branches but it's getting old and it's starting to show. If we decide to get a new one, we'll be shopping as soon as they hit the stores next fall -- which means we could be doing it on our vacation in September!

	More on the topic of a new tree: Skywise is in favor of the idea. Next year, we'd take this tree and put it up in the Guest House, lightly decorated so it would still have a place of honor. Moonie isn't so sure about it. As of the moment, though, she's talking to one of her "chatbuddies" who is Christian and thinks God is punishing her with a glitch in her Photoshop program because she's making a design for someone using the Chinese zodiac.... I imagine that Moonie will come around to the idea by next year. Skywise is on his way and I need to be useful. I have some packages to wrap. Later.

	Afternoon. Work up with a stiff neck and a headache this morning so I'm getting off to a slow start. Skywise took the tree down last night 'cause the boycats were climbing it and he was worried that they'd hurt themselves on the anchor lines. He has it back up now but I don't know what we're going to do. He's going to be leaving soon so I'd better get busy. Later.

	Skywise has left for work and we know why the tree keeps coming down. The boycats are treating it like a real tree.... They've been playing in it, climbing up inside it, jumping on the sides and using it as "cover" while they spar. We've figured out something to try but a trip to the lumber yard is gonna be necessary. DEFINITELY gotta find a new place to put the tree by next year!

	Still have a bit of a headache. Skywise called about an hour ago with the news that a friend's mother had died and one of his wife's close relatives (didn't catch which one as Skywise was calling from "the road" on his cell) had gone to the mailbox and had been hit by a car and killed. Both deaths happened on Saturday. Maybe that's why I'm feeling a bit down. You never know how much time you have left. Or how much time someone you love has... ...later....

"Does this paragraph in general and the last sentence in particular make sense given the revised events in the story or do I need to tweak it some more?" 	Took a short nap, rearranged stuff in the basement so it is closer to the "final" arrangement and have been working on Chapter 2. I think I've about got it right. Need to run the dishwasher and once that's done, get dinner going. It's spaghetti tonight so it won't take long. Better get the dishwasher loaded.. Later.

	Afternoon! I've been up for a while getting the kitchen straightened out. Today is pie baking day. There is a pitch in dinner at work tomorrow and Skywise needs two pies. The fact that people asked him with a hopeful gleam in their eyes to bring a couple of my apple pies helps! So as soon as he's outta here, I'm gonna start baking!

	Last pie is in the oven. It's all over but the clean up. Ick!! Working on Chapter 2 now. I was thinking about the "naughty stuff" I'll be writing soon, trying it out in my head before putting it on "paper." Also thinking about the new subplot I have to write. Gotta get cracking on that and figure out where I'm going to go with it 'cause once I get what's on the "front burner" right now, wrapped up, that "subplot" will be tying the middle of the book together!

	Pie is out of the oven and the kitchen is almost cool enough to work in. Been getting Skywise's presents ready to wrap. These packages keep coming into the house and Spirit wants me to get them wrapped so that's what I'm going to do tonight. Getting bits and pieces of the subplot. I might just make a separate word document and write them down, then connect the bits. THEN, cut them up and put them in the appropriate places in the main text. THAT might be the way to go.....

	Pies are completely cooled and have the covers on them. Skywise's presents are wrapped. MOST of the mess is cleaned up. Will probably finish tomorrow because I'm working on dinner now. Pizza dough is rising. I'm on schedule. I'm waiting for Nike. It's all good.

	Went into town and Skywise and Moonie grabbed a few presents. I got something for myself -- relentlessly practical -- since Skywise was handling getting gifts for the kids and I've already gotten his gifts wrapped. Deciding now about whether or not to make cookies today or just have a marathon baking spree tomorrow. Need to work on Chapter Two and get the brain focused on that new material I need to write! 	I've started a separate word doc for the new material and I have it and Chapter 2 both on the desktop right now. I work on whichever one I'm "inspired" to at the time. At the moment, it's the new stuff. But right now, I'm a bit hungry. A snack is in order, I think.
