	Morning and Happy New Year! Hubby got home early last night and we watched the countdown on one of the Halifax channels... I wonder how anyone could be outside in temps like we had last night, it was pretty darn cold here for our area! I made a batch of focaccia bread on a whim after I got offline last night and the guys really appreciated it. We had three people setting off fireworks around the area too... Two over on one side of the lake to our east and one of our neighbors was setting them off. Cat wasn't fazed by them much although she did put her ears back a few times and glared at us... I'll be here between cleaning and dodging dirty socks... I also have a few new games to install on the computer. A friend of Hubby's gave him a HUGE stack of game CD's like Scrabble, Monopoly, Yahtzee and a few other ones. They look fun, so if they work with Win 8, we'll have a few new ones to play offline. Time to finish getting caught up. I also need more coffee.

	Morning. I'm sitting here with my tea and a sore ankle. I don't know what I did to it but my left ankle has decided that today is a good day to hurt. sigh There may be aspirin in my future at this rate.

	Well, I've managed to get some stuff done that I was able to do without moving around much. Not as much as I wanted but I can say that I did get something useful done today. Having rested the cranky lower extremities for most of the day, I'll be heading into the kitchen to get dinner started. I'm making chicken and noodles tonight and since I don't have any noodles already made up, it's gonna take a bit more "prep" than my dinners normally do.

	Fireworks are over. The neighborhood dogs are in an uproar and their owners are probably cursing whoever was setting off the fireworks.. and the dogs!

	Moonie is already planning a massive purchase of fireworks for the next 4th of July, Labor Day weekend and New Year's Day 2015. What can I say? My girls like things that go "BOOM!!" And on that note, I'm heading out. Everyone sleep well and be safe.

	Morning. I'm only in for a little bit then we're off to run errands. I thought I'd block out the sounds of that gross show by listening to music and thought I'd come in long enough to check the email and other stuff. We're getting a major snowstorm tonight into tomorrow so we're going to stock up on a few things today, just in case. Not sure if Hubby will even make it into work, so we thought we'd get a few things done today while we could.

	Town is NUTS right now. It seems everyone and their dog is out stocking up so they're prepared for the snowstorm that's coming later today. It will start with flurries ths afternoon and this evening, we'll see a couple of cm of snow falling, the big stuff is coming overnight into tomorrow. It's currently about -17C or 1F with windchills of -23C or -9F outside. I just about froze walking from just the car to the grocery store! If it stays this cold, the snow is going to be the fluffy, dry stuff they generally see in the northern regions of the country, not the heavy and wet "snowman" snow we normally get this far southeast. Hubby has the kerosene heater and infared blasting away and I have the halogen turned on by the computer. It's helping but not by a lot. I'm just hoping the pipes do NOT freeze.... I'm going to get a hot drink and get caught up now. I have apple cinnamon tea and I'm thinking about having one.....

	Afternoon. We have 4 to 6 inches of snow. It's hard to tell how much because it's blowing all over the place but that's a fair guess. It's currently 17 degrees with more snow due on Sunday. I need a drink.....

	YUCK Penth! It's starting to snow here now (flurries) and Hubby just remembered we need kerosene for the heater, so he's gone back up town to get some more and maybe a couple of other things to be sure we're okay until tomorrow or Saturday. He's working day shifts this coming weekend for a change so if the major grocery shopping has to be put off for a day or two during the cleanup after this incoming mess, so be it!

	We were out doing our major shopping today. sigh Fortunately, we didn't need a lot since the car holds considerably less than the van. The engine is in by the way but as of when we drove past the shop, the van was still parked in the back. Hopefully the roads will be cleared and the snow over at least for a bit when it's time to pick it up.

	Thank the stars something is happening with the van, FINALLY. Hopefully they'll have it done and you'll have it home before you need anything huge to haul. I've had two hot chocolates since I've gotten home and even with the heaters cranked up, I'm STILL cold. I'm hoping Hubby decides to turn on the kerosene one for the kitchen and put the infared into the living room for a while this evening, that way I don't freeze while I'm giving the cat snuggles in a bit. Hubby is making onion rings and shrimp for him and Son, and where I can't eat shellfish, I think I may just heat up a can of soup for supper. It's one of those kind of days......

	Exactly. I have a little chicken broth in the fridge and I'm considering stretching it out a tad by adding some water, herbs, onions and carrots to it and after that's done, cooking some pasta and other veggies in it for homemade soup for me. The guys don't eat soups or stews as a rule so if I make soup, I wind up eating all of it myself. Then again, I do have a bit of hamburger in the freezer, I may use some of that with herbs, seasonings and veggies to make a quick beef broth and make stew that way.... Hmm....

	All this soup talk is making me hungry! Moonie bought some decorating icing tips, a "cake leveler", an instruction book and a recipe book at Walmart today so I just ordered her a holder to put the tips in so we can put them through the dishwasher, a tip storage box and a "bag holder" for filled decorator bags all for less than the manufacturer's suggested retail. NOW I gotta make room in the workstation for all her decorating gear.....

	Hubby just fired up the kerosene heater so that's helping a little. Hopefully between that and me cooking something like soup, it'll help even more. I'm having visions of me buried under two comforters, two thermal blankets and at least one afghan when I go to bed tonight... And the heat cranked up full blast in the bedroom!!!

	I told him you have "orders" for him to be careful tomorrow, and he mumbled something like "Yeah, yeah, I will" and went upstairs for a second. If the power stays on, I'll be a happy girl... We're getting up to 16 inches in spots! (40 cm in Canadian).
