	Greetings! FINALLY have the chance to post. It's a sunny day, not too hot/humid and no rain is expected until tomorrow afternoon. THEN there will be a chance of rain everyday. After three years of drought, I am NOT gonna complain!

	We've been home for a while but we barely beat the rain and it knocked us offline until now. I expect that to happen a lot today. There is a slow moving cold front moving through and that means off and on rain all day and into the night. Fortunately, I have plenty to keep me busy offline....

	I'm a bit disappointed. I bought a VERY tall wooden candlestick at Walmart today, got it home and discovered that it isn't level. One side is about ⅛th of an inch taller than the other side. sigh I'll be taking it back and then heading for the display (hopefully there will still be some there) with my little six foot tape measure. I want/need two and I'm going to measure them all until I find two that are level and I'm gonna BUY them. Can't start Halloween planning too soon......

	Once the rain got here, it poured without letup for about three hours. It's moved out for the time being but more rain isn't being ruled out. The total for Indianapolis is 4.43 inches (the 7th wettest 7/7 in history) with localized flooding in the city. I'm hoping that we've had all the rain we're going to get today so the creeks can go down before Skywise heads for home.

	I've printed out the "Projects To Do" list, put it on a bright red clipboard and put the clipboard in a bright red "copy stand" which is now on the workstation where it canNOT be overlooked, forgotten about or buried. Spirit was telling us while we were in town today that we needed to go to the local ACE Hardware. Further questioning revealed that she wanted us to get the drain pipe that we need to install under the driveway before we have it restoned. The child is gonna keep our feet to the fire....

	sigh Never in my life -- not even when I first needed glasses at the age of ten -- has my eyesight gotten so bad so fast. I realized on Saturday as we were coming home from the fireworks that I have NO business driving after dark. Every oncoming headlight was a "double" or a "triple" and completely surrounded by a rainbow hued halo. It was the same for the "white" streetlights. The traffic lights were "doubles" -- especially the stop lights. "Daytime" isn't much better. There are no halos but my "distance" vision is shortening rapidly and I'm back to taking my glasses off for reading. Fortunately, I'll only have to drive if we need to take one of the vehicles into the shop or when we take the van to be painted and in the first instance, Skywise "may" make use of the auto shop's shuttle service to get home and in the second, the paint shop is only a couple of miles east of here down a road that doesn't see much traffic once everyone has left for work and one that I'm very familiar with. My "computer glasses" aren't much better. I'm having to lean in to see the screen and I really don't know how long it will be before I can't see it at all. At this rate, I'll need to have the surgery sooner than the doctor expected. I just hope that I can have surgery on both eyes fairly close together or I'll have one eye "normal"(ish) and the other nearsighted as hell...... Post # 35,653

	Greetings from Soggy Central Indiana. The front that went through yesterday has returned for an encore. It plans to stay for at least the next ten days. The drought is DEFINITELY over.... We went into town for lunch -- Skywise wanted some serious eats -- and I returned the candlestick that I bought yesterday and got two more that are level so on that score I'm happy. After the major projects are done, I'll be staining them as black as I possibly can and finishing them. They might not be ready this Halloween but 2016 is a lock. Now to get caught up on things not "weather related".

	We now have a flood watch in effect until the 12th. This is not unexpected. The ground is saturated and the rain keeps coming.

	I'm back. I've been puttering around. One of the candlesticks I bought today needed to be taken apart so I did and figured out how to put it back together -- which could be tricky but I think I have t figured out. Right now I have WP draped over my left arm pinning it to the arm of the chair....

	In my prowling around the web, I found a site where a father had taken the wastebasket pictured below and made it into a motorized R2D2 Valentine card box with sound for his young son to take to school on Valentine's day. I have absolutely NO use for a R2D2 card box but DAMNIT! The Geek in me is straining at the leash!

	I've just realized that I've neglected to eat dinner. [Moonie fixed her own dinner and since she knows she'll be eating a very large meal early tomorrow, Spirit skipped "formal" dinner and is "grazing".] I probably should eat something but what to have this damned late?

	I've been busy with "offline stuff" today. Got a LOT of small jobs done. I have a lot of small jobs to do tomorrow but not as many! Right now, dinner is ten minutes away from being served and that is good....
