	Something I've decided to do "could" turn out to be easier than I thought. I need to transcribe several hours of audio material to text and I was going to do it the "hard way", by hand. According to what I've just read online, my computer might already have a "talk to text" feature installed. If that's the case, the job will be a lot easier. I'll have to get together with Skywise since it will finding it and getting up where I can use it will require poking around in areas of the software where I don't go. I do NOT want to screw up this computer!! So, I'll do more online snooping, bookmark some sites and we'll see!

	Just took painkiller. I need to do stuff and I slipped on the ice again this morning and my legs are complaining so..... painkiller. And I wish the vendor would hurry up and ship my laptop. I wanna play with it!!

	The mailing label with postage has been printed for my laptop but at last check, the post office didn't have it yet. The vendor's on the West Coast so he could still get it into the system tonight. Arctic air is on the way, due to arrive during the weekend. It will be the coldest it's been since 2019. I'm glad Skywise will be home Sunday night but I worry about Monday. He knows how to dress for the cold but still.....

	My laptop is in the clutches of the USPS!! It's "Priority Mail" so it should be here quickly. I can hardly wait!! The first thing to do is make a sleeve for it after which I'm going to design and make a custom bag using pieces from a pattern I already have. I've wanted a laptop for a looonnnngggg time and I finally have one. Or will shortly!

	Afternoon. Usual Wednesday stuff done. Skywise is on his way to work. He found and tested the Talk to Text software on this Mac last night so we won't need to buy any expensive software. It won't convert audio that is already on the computer but once we have the laptop we should be able to rig a workaround. It would be nice if this computer had a microphone jack but I doubt that it does but I'll look. It if does, that would make things even easier. Otherwise, getting a small speaker might be advisable. But right now, I'm just happy we have the software and an incoming laptop to use for the workaround. Otherwise, it could get really complicated.

	Waiting on an Amazon delivery that was supposed to be here before 4:45 pm. NOW, their tracking is saying before 10. sigh We'll see. I couldn't find anything that looked like a microphone jack on this computer so a small speaker may be on my "To Buy" list. My laptop hasn't been scanned since yesterday. I hope they get it on a plane to Indianapolis tonight....

	I've been looking at mouse pads for my new laptop. I know without looking that Walmart has nothing interesting so I'm looking online. In any event, Skywise has called and is on his way. 	I would be very glad -- except for the resulting massive unemployment -- if Amazon imploded in a fiery blaze of unimaginable corporate destruction! At least my laptop -- NOT purchased through Amazon -- has made it to Indianapolis and "should" be delivered tomorrow. Fingers crossed that there are no problems with it....

	Finally got my feet warm. So far, they're staying that way. For how long is anyone's guess. I pulled my really SERIOUS winter coat out last night. Sunday is predicted to be "arctic" and I "handle" cold only a bit better than "hot", mainly because you can put on enough clothes to be warm -- you may not be able to move but you'll be warm -- but you can't take off enough clothes to be cool. I know. I've tried. It didn't work worth a damn and scared the cats!

	Afternoon. Got everything done before Skywise had to leave for work. Currently waiting on the letter carrier who has my laptop. I do NOT want it to sit the mailbox any longer than necessary so I'm watching tracking closely while I get caught up. Amazon has another delivery for me today too. 	My laptop was FINALLY delivered 25 minutes ago. The one day I was hanging off the mailbox waiting for the carrier, he was late. But it's here, cold, but here. And red. And bigger than I expected. I'm going to measure it and figure out how much I'll need to alter the bag pattern I have to hold everything I want to put in it. The battery only has a 25% charge in it so I'm not going to do anything with it beside turning it on -- which is how I know it isn't fully charged. Now that I have it, I'll start digging through the instructions I have, compare the parts I have and see if there's anything else I should buy to make operations easier. I'm gonna need a unique password so I need to think about that as well. It's "name" is already picked out. rubs hands together Time to get to work.....

	Alternations to the patterns will definitely have to be made. My laptop is fractionally longer than what the sleeve pattern will accommodate. So... alternations. There is an "audio output" jack on the laptop and on the desktop so once we have the right cable, my transcription job will be a LOT easier. A "standard issue" extension cord wasn't included but I was able to order one from Amazon and I should have it in a few days which will make using/charging a lot easier since the electrical outlets in this house are not as plentiful as we would like. Skywise just called so I'm going to head out. We'll be putting our heads together -- probably tomorrow -- over getting my laptop up and running. 	Afternoon. Been busy. Skywise and the girls have taken the recyclables to the drop off bin. He's already started getting my laptop set up. It's charging now and should be done soon. I've created a suitably strong password that I will actually be able to remember! Now to get caught up quickly before they get back and Skywise needs to use this computer.

	Skywise has been putting the laptop through it's paces. It's been reconditioned and so far, so good. No glitches have appeared. I haven't had a chance to use it yet but I will once everything is loaded/transferred.

	My oil diffuser arrived today and I tried it out this evening. The results aren't as intense as incense but they will do when using incense isn't possible. I'll have to watch it so it doesn't evaporate away completely though. I've been making a list of what needs to be transferred to the laptop. It isn't complete yet but the iTunes list is finished and I think I have all the critical bookmarks listed. I haven't decided on what needs to be transferred from this desktop yet...
