The meteorological monster is nearly here and Skywise is getting ready to leave for work. I'm not going to get anything worthwhile accomplished today -- too much anxiety. Fortunately, the girls have been sleeping and I've been napping too -- trying to keep a headache at bay and sleeping is less fattening than eating!

I just heard on the radio that the REMC has been told to expect up to 3 inches of ice and gusty winds. The equipment is designed for no wind and a half of an inch of ice.
Hoping the Weather Gods cut us a break...

Just checked the "interactive" radar and it looks like we are about out of the woods as far as more freezing rain is concerned. This sucker is moving slowly and the back edge is in sight so I'd say another couple of hours, maybe three before it is all out of here. Of course, then there is the possibility of snow coming along behind it. What has me concerned now is wind. As much ice has we have had plus strong wind could equal some serious nastiness.

We had "whiteout" conditions yesterday, a bit more snow today and now the forecasters are predicting snow for tomorrow morning and another blast later in the week. Looks like Old Man Winter is gonna make to most of his remaining time this year. No watches, warnings or advisories issued yet. *sigh*
And just think! When it finally starts to warm up, it will be thunderstorms, "supercell" storms and tornado outbreaks..... Smiley
