In other news, I've been excavating the basement and unearthed Moonie's old Creepy Crawlers maker and some of the molds. Her eyes lit up.

Nanny said the same thing about our little guy and she was sooooooooooo right... LOL I'm glad she lived to see our son start to talk and interact with everyone before she passed.

Oh dear lord... My son would have a BLAST playing with that with Moonie!! He loves that kind of stuff!! LOL

I'm just waiting for the cake to cool so I can ice it.  Instead of getting 39 candles I got ones that spell "Happy Birthday" instead.  Which is good because my cake writing is terrible.. and it will be easier to blow out and won't set off the fire detector Tongue

And now I'm wondering what ever happened to my bro's creepy crawler set, lols!

My brother liked that kind of thing but he wasn't as into it as my two cousins... Of course, being the ONLY girl out of the four of us, I wound up getting more creepy and gross stuff dropped on my head than I can remember... *SIGH* Roll Eyes When my nephew was about 8 or so, it was gross stuff with him too. The oldest niece screams when something disgusting is shown to her but she can tolerate more than her mother/my sister can... Hehehehehe...

Hee Hee!  Spending most of my childhood on our little chicken farm, I didn't mind gross stuff very much.

Had a couple nice surprises waiting for me in the backyard today!  I have an old flower box behind the back step with my Garden blankets.  A beautiful black kitty was sunning herself in there!  Skittish though, she took right off when I opened the door.  Also, even though there's still plenty of snow in the front yard and quite a bit on the garden, I saw my Yarrow was already quite thick and green, so I took the mulch off my herbs and most have winterd just fine and are quite green.  Even the Chamomille has flowers coming already, where last week everything was still covered in snow and dead looking.  This is turning out to be quite a good earth-day Smiley

I was hoping for Barbies and a certain amount of "frills" but no such luck.

I got my "dwarf" lilac bush planted. I'll be able to see it out the kitchen window. I was going to put it in the front yard until I looked up the expected height and width online -- 4 to 8 feet tall and up to 5 feet wide. Some dwarf!!

Not sure what the lilacs are here, they were here when we got here, but they are actually lilac coloured.  They have gotten over 10 ft high and get quite thick.  I have a couple of wild roses growing under them.  Your dwarf lilacs seem to have the same probable dimensions as the Saskatoon "bushes" I picked up last year.  It would be nice to get my blueberries and other bushes transplanted by the end of the month.  What colour is your lilac?

My mother forced me to wear dresses, even on gym class days, right up until I was 9 years old. I HATE dresses and skirts to this day. I also had the color pink forced on me and I hate it too. In fact, I despise most things that are girly... Except for high heels, jewelery and makeup that is. Tongue In other words, anything that wasn't shoved down my throat from the time I was a baby.

Our flowering crab tree is starting to get some leaves... In a few weeks, it will be in full bloom. I'll have to get pics of it to show everyone, because it is gorgeous when it's covered in blossoms. Our lilac bush is about 12 feet or so high, it's about 50 odd years old and it's huge... So is the honeysuckle bush beside it! Our forsythias are not blooming yet but give them time. The juniper bush Hubby and I planted back in 2003 isn't very high but it's getting wide. That's the ONLY thing I've added to the landscaping, everything else was here when we purchased the house ten years ago!

I won't know for sure until it blooms but I think it's lilac. I want to get a white one too but I haven't found one yet.
Our forsythias have EXPLODED but the honeysuckle won't bloom for a while yet although if it gets warm and stays warm, they'll catch up pretty quickly. My rose bush is taking off too.

I had to wear dresses to school -- it was required -- but when I wasn't in school, Mom let me wear what I wanted. Her lifestyle required her to live in jeans so she had no problem with me doing the same.

The old fashioned roses we have out back won't be blooming for a few more weeks, same with the rambling rose bush we have by the shed. Things generally don't really get rolling here until early May most of the time.

Black fly season is just around the corner and the peak is the Victoria Day weekend, which is on May 20th this year. Fun stuff. NOT!

So today I managed to drive my husband somewhat crazy, moved that goofy cat off of the monitor about twenty times, got ran over and sassed by Cat more times than I can count, screamed at by Son (I threatened to put Bubble Guppies and My Little Pony on for him if he didn't behave, he hates those shows!), tried NOT to climb some walls, felt like a squirrel on coffee AND speed, and finally managed to accomplish the eyestrain bit... All since 5:30 this morning.

On that note, I'm exhausted and I just MIGHT sleep tonight.

No news is good news after all... Or I hope it is at least. Tongue

See y'all at the usual time in the morning. I'll be running errands at some point with Hubby just to get myself OUT of the house and to relax for a bit.
