Afternoon.

We're here finally and it's been raining like "heck" since late last night. The creeks are full to nearly running over and there are Flood Warnings for the whole state. It's gonna be a soggy weekend.

I've been offline more than on this afternoon. The rain has been heavy and it isn't slowing down any. *sigh* We're supposed to see The Desolation of Smaug tomorrow and I really hope the roads out of here aren't closed by flooding.

Just got back on after 90 minutes offline. We have a Flash Flood Watch in effect until 12:30 am. I've called Skywise at work so he knows about it. Hopefully we'll be able to get out of here and see the movie tomorrow. Be back when I can.

FINALLY!! Smiley The line has moved past us and we "should" be in the clear as far as rain is concerned. The Flash Flood Watch is due to expire at 12:30 am so the creeks "should" be going down now that the rain has moved out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Skywise can get home okay and that we can get out of here in the morning.

On the other hand, this meteorological PITA was moving in on VE's area the last time I checked -- a couple of hours ago -- and she should be having a soggy time of it by now. Hopefully, the damned mess will move out to sea faster than it moved through Indiana!

FYI: As of 10:55 pm, the National Weather Service had measured 5.12 inches of rain in this county -- which explains why the creeks are full.....

The "alternate" alternate route was passable and now I'm gonna stop pacing the floor and head out. We still plan to see the movie tomorrow and will be leaving a little early "just in case." I'll be in when we get back.

I'm here as long as the weather and power holds. It's raining at the moment but we're supposed to be getting some freezing rain later today, hopefully we will NOT get it and everything stays kosher here.

Morning. I'm here just long enough to say "Hi!." The rain is well out of the area and we're going to see about getting out of here. Epic movie calls after all! Take care, VE and if you have to head offline before I get back, don't worry about Sanctuary and stay safe! The storm isn't particularly violent but it's a slow mover and it dumped a TON of rain on us!

Hubby went to town to run some errands and got home a while ago... The roads are fine so far, and I'm hoping it STAYS that way.... Halifax has been seeing freezing rain though, and it may come down this way after the sun sets and the temp drops. *SIGH*

Glad that all are warm and safe!!  Smiley  I follow the weather network on twitter and from the looks of things so far Ontario was hit the worst in Canada.  The pics are interesting. 

Anyway, slept in today so I need to grab a coffee and wake up

We're home. The primary route we use was still closed due to high water but the alternate that was flooded last night was clear this morning. I'm gonna get caught up and then get busy. The kitchen is still a bit of a mess.

Yeah!  Good news all around!

I think I am going to grab some extra carrots tomorrow and make carrot pies instead of pumpkin.

I got prone because my knees hurt and the next thing I knew, it was after 7. *sigh* Dinner should be ready in about half an hour and I just put 200 lights on our Christmas tree -- the old set apparently has a broken wire 'cause only half of it will light.
