	It finally started raining around 8 sigh and has finally moved out. I will now do the dishes which I didn't want to do during the storm. The whole "don't do dishes or take a bath during a thunderstorm" thing. I haven't checked but the Flash Flood Warning for this county "should" have expired by now.

	Greetings. We're back from Greenwood. I picked up two new romance novels at Half Price books. They're part of a trilogy and obviously "new" so I'm pleased. Even moreso by the fact that they have engaging characters, an actual plot, a "villain" with mysterious motives and a dangerous situation that will keep me turning the pages. Or will once I can see to read them. Yeah, I woke up to blurry vision this morning that did not improve much when I put my glasses on. sigh I swear once I have these cataracts out, I'm going to drown myself in GOOD romance writing! And probably take a good dose of "urban fantasy" too. I am WAY behind in reading the Dresden Files.... Post 35,735

	Greetings. It's gloomy and occasionally noisy this morning -- yeah, I KNOW it's "afternoon" but I just got up a half hour ago. SUE ME! -- and there is "weather" over in the Kansas/Missouri area that will probably show up here at some point. Skywise's plan to cut the grass is definitely on hold. sigh Maybe during the week. Now I need to make tea and get something to eat....

	We're back. Skywise had an appointment with a "specialty" dentist and when we got there we found out that the office was closed -- and the appointment therefore cancelled -- because of a power failure in the building. Spirit was upset because, we think, the office is in a professional building next to a major hospital and she thought that her daddy needed to go to the hospital. sigh I think we've convinced her that he is NOT in need of hospitalization..... Anyway, we headed south (the appointment was an hour's drive away on the north side of Indianapolis) and made a couple of stops so the day wouldn't be a total loss. I got too hot -- again -- and once I'm caught up I'm going to strip down the rest of the way and lay around in the air conditioning with my tea...

	I have just spent the last half hour out in the rain trying to figure out why a young "half to nearly full grown" tomcat is parked on our front step pleading to be let in. Spirit let him in earlier and our cats had a fit, especially the three youngest. The new little guy is "unaltered" and shows all signs of being fed by someone. WHY he is so determined to get in our house is beyond me. I took him up to the Guest House and he seemed inclined to go along until we were almost there, then he hit me in the face and drew blood. Skywise has patched me up. Moonie got hit too, on the hand, and she's bandaged up too. Right now, the Prince and one of the kits are roaming around the place growling. Hopefully the little tomcat will head for home when the rain stops.....

	The rain has stopped and the little tom appears to have left. At least he isn't on our front step and the cats have stood down from "RED ALERT!" Hopefully, the little guy has headed back to his home territory and isn't bunking in the Guest House. In other news, Skywise was going to install a new keyboard on this computer since I've just about worn this one out only to find that the one he picked up two years ago is incompatible with the operating system we're using among other shortcomings. Getting the operating system that we'd need would require a 1+ Gigabyte download which would mean staying up until 2 am to start the process and staying up until it was downloaded and installed. We're talking several hours since the download speed at that time of night isn't that great since EVERYONE with big downloading jobs is doing them at that time too. Fortunately, Amazon (let's hear it for Amazon!) has the same model keyboard as we're using. At Skywise's direction, I ordered two of them so once they arrive, we should be fixed for a while...

	We've been busy today. The little tomcat showed up at a little before 3 this afternoon. First he tried to get in the back door and then the front. We think that he may be a "barn cat" and not feral since he's obviously comfortable around people and their "places." He left and we thought he was gone so Moonie took the cats out. Then he came back. Things did not go well but there was no fighting. Right now Moonie is outside with the Queen and the little tom. She's growling at him and charged him but again, no fighting. That little guy has the most heartbreaking cry.....

	Following up a hunch with some research, I've figured out why that little tomcat is so noisy and insistent on getting in the house and why our boycats are ready to do murder.... He wants a girlfriend and we have two charming little ladies in residence. The fact that the girlcats are spayed doesn't seem to be an issue for him. He is, in short, a teenage boy whose hormones have kicked in and are in the driver's seat. Hopefully, his yowling will attract a like minded female who will settle him down before the Prince and SunLord manage to rip out the back door.......
