	Still no reply from the larping group I contacted. Those guys sure know how to make an impression! Too bad for them that it's a bad one! I'm working on the metric conversion chart and once it's done, I can get back to working on the "price lists" for my larp. I'm going to have to make the largest denomination of "play money" in both gold and silver that we'll need since it really needs to at least "look" different from the other coins. There seems to be only two designs (aside from "casino coins") and I have both. I may end up using the two designs of gold coins with one design being worth more than the other. Still haven't nailed that down yet.� At least the smaller denominations will be easy to find and will be worth what it says on them.

	The chart is done -- FINALLY! -- and still no reply to my questions to that larping group. Friday is their deadline and I'm not expecting to hear from them before then so it's full speed ahead with MY LARP!

	Tried to write about manners and the Dueling Code in the Reader's/Player's Guide tonight but my heart isn't in it but at least I have a little something written down. I'll go back to filling in the price tables or writing out spells tomorrow. It'll be progress even if it isn't dazzling prose.

	Didn't get much of anything done today -- too tired but Skywise and I threw around some ideas for "making money" -- game money that is -- and a trip to the hobby shops and United Art and Education is on the agenda. Not sure exactly when we'll get there but it's on the "To Do" list.

	Working a bit on the costuming guidelines. Since Samgara isn't a "medieval" setting things like buttons and zippers are okay. Plastic buttons will be allowed if they don't "look" like plastic. I'm trying to be reasonable about what isn't allowed: spandex, most knits including "teeshirt" fabric, camo patterns, baseball caps and anything with logos or writing on it except for the staff "uniform" which will likely include ball caps and shirts with "STAFF" in huge letters on them.

	I'm going to have to invoke St. Anthony to help me find the notes I made about Samgara's solar system so I can put them in the Reader's/Player's Guide. And I need to lay out the map I made of Samgara's northern continent and figure out how big it is. (Pretty big.) And I need to put a few more places on it and write them up for the Gazette. And start figuring out how many individual map pages I'm going to need.

	Okay. That problem is sorta solved. We found a system for making molds and casting in plastic that we can use to make the "play money" coins that we'll need. We'll even be able to cast them in gold and silver. It will be time consuming and we may have to issue "paper money" until we can make enough coinage but we can do it. All we need now is three prototype coins to make the molds with which I am thinking about/working on.

	I've made a list of all the clothing, footwear and accessories I want to include in the price lists and I've found a list of prices for things from the early to mid 1930's. Of course, there is NO price listed for a corset made of kevlar so I'm going to have to figure out that one myself...... No email from the group I queried last month and time is up! They'll be getting a little note from me this evening tersely telling them that I'm no longer interested. I get the distinct feeling that they've forgotten all about me which is in line with their scheduling foul-up last month. I think that in the end, I and those I end up larping with are better off going it alone.

	Back working on "price lists" and hunting up prices in the 1930s (which is where most of the price data in Pulp HERO comes from) and getting a wee bit cross-eyed.

	Just sent an email to the larp group I contacted telling them that I'm no longer interested as I've found something that's a better fit. It might take a while to get to beta testing but it WILL be a "better fit" when I'm done!

	I didn't get a chance to work on anything larpy today but while Skywise and the girls were roaming around various exhibits at the Children's Museum, I rested my knees (the left was particularly cranky) and read "Leaving Mundania" by Lizzie Stark which she wrote after diving into "LARP culture" for around three years. From the looks of her internet presence, she still hasn't left. [The book is copyrighted 2012.] What I read today was about a LARP in the east called Knight Realm which is a very long running enterprise with it's own venue, a former Girl Scout campground. I'm envious and I got to "see" how the owner runs it. Gotta google and get an update.

	Worked on "this and that" on the larp. Just had a brainstorm about how to keep track of the treasure and such that a player accumulates and made out the forms. I'm thinking that I'm going to need a price list for non-cash treasure so that things can be properly appraised for purposes of buying and selling. Loose gemstones and strings of pearls are lovely but gold and silver spends easier!

	Apparently, diamonds were dirt cheap in the 30's before the De Beers company started their "Diamonds are Forever" campaign. I may have to adjust the prices a little to make hauling home a small chest of them worth the trouble.....

	I found most of the stats I need for the "explosives" price list in HERO's 5th Edition Equipment Guide so that part of the problem is taken care of. Our Hero's big brother is very fond of explosives and he probably isn't the only one in the Samgaran Universe.

	I realized that a whole class of "necessary" items that players might want to buy -- like razors and razor blades -- should be included so I made another table which is a lot easier to do than filling one in! THEN, I had to remember what kinds of makeup women wore in the 1930s. [No, I wasn't alive then but my mother was and the makeup she used in the 50's and 60's wasn't a whole lot different from what she used in the 40's.] Post # 32, 888

	STILL working on the price lists but I "think" I finally have everything or almost everything that a player is likely to want or need listed. NOW all I have to do is fill the tables in. When my brain goes numb from that, I'll pull out the spell books and work on that and maybe I'll eventually get all this "drudge work" done and I can concentrate on the fun stuff....

	I'm thinking about ways to make my larp less "lethal" and I think I may be onto something. Most larps are so deadly to characters that there is a set procedure for being brought back to life. It seems to me that being harder to kill in the first place would be a better option. It takes effort to die in the HERO System so I'm going to be looking into exactly what it takes to "get dead" and then arrange matters so that the character a player has spent time, effort and real cash money to outfit doesn't end up dead without some SERIOUS effort on the part of his/her opponent. "Death" even pretend death shouldn't be trivialized and being resurrected time after time "in game" does just that.
